I am also a rigger but in the pipe trades industry. Along the way I have found the marlin spike style knives very useful when working with ropes and shackles and have used them for years. My current one is a Colt but I like the looks of this RR. Thanks for sharing!

Looks massive. I picked up a Schrade SCH735OT about a year ago. Learned the hard way not to put my pinky finger in a certain spot because of how hard the bail snaps back. Sorta like that the RR doesn't lock in similar fashion. [edit: The liners glow?! That's so cool!!!!

I definitely see what you mean about it being an in-between knife. Other things that make it look like a RRR is the brushed steel bolsters and the satin blade instead of nickel silver bolsters and a mirror polished blade.

Mine was right down the middle. D2 wouldn't make sense on a salt water knife. Maybe VG10 would be a good option. Its a fun knife. PS: The blue also has the glow liners.

I have an Imperial and the spike locks like on the camulus. Wonder why RR didn't add the lock? Sweet looking Sailor's knife either way, thanks for sharing BigRed be safe. On my list for a visit to SMKW.

I've also heard this pattern called a rigger's knife. I rigged a bit back in the day and could have put this to use. Whoever designed this has rigged some.

The Reserve line uses D2 instead of 440A, all RRR slip joints have micarta covers and the fit and finish is consistently better.
