Let’s Talk: Tour Down Under coverage, explanation of

The Tour Down Under is special to me. I've attended every single stage of the race since its inception in 1999. It started as a bike race but it has become much more than that. It really is a festival of cycling in South Australia every January. I'm honoured and lucky to have seen it grow into what it is in 2024.
Every year many cycling stories are created in and around Adelaide and I was lucky enough to go back again for my 24th year (as, alas, I had to skip the pandemic years, 2021 and 2022)... but I'll be there again to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the TDU.
This video offers some highlights and an explanation about RIDE Media's (ongoing) coverage of an event that began big all those years ago and has achieved its remit. South Australia is a fantastic place for cycling. I know that now... thanks to the race.

Great video Rob! Living in Melbourne for the last ten years (originally from Adelaide) this was the first time I brought my bike with me to join in the TDU event. Absolutely loved it! I participated in the Maap/Specialized group rides through the beautiful Adelaide Hills (even saw you ride past Norton Summit). I will definitely be making the annual trip back for this event in the coming years. Kudos to SA for putting on such a great event.

FYI - your interview with Adam Hansen was inspired - great to hear what he gets involved with and excellent to dispel some silly urban myths/conspiracies about the UCIs ban on crooked brake levers...

Hey Rob, I just wanted to say how impressive and admirable it was how Julian Alaphilippe participated in this race. And I think it's relevant to your question to him and perhaps motivated him. Clearly he honoured the spirit of the TDU by putting in a whole hearted effort. He could have done less but he went deep and showed how great he is. He's a true champion. It was special and we were lucky to see him do this imo.
