I think it's really good that you decided to remove your affiliate code with shroud. I hope other influencers will follow suit. I'm glad the owner is doing better, but the whole situation is unacceptable.
@RaniaMich7 ай бұрын
Thank you for speaking out about shroud. I never bought anything from them, but this situation got me upset. I never go on reddit for "small talk" but i actually searched for any news everywhere this time, including reddit. Someone could have replied under her last post saying something, even if they didn't have access to the official account. This was unacceptable, and the fact that some people received this email, and that there's still no public update, makes things worse!

I agree about people not lying for the most part. Like I don’t even look to the same people for opinions on all makeup products. I share preferences for one person with eyeshadow, different one for foundation, different one for blush lol. I guess it’s why I’m subscribed to so many people on KZbin lol

I have never been more proud to say I use your codes on my indie makeup purchases than this moment ❤️❤️ This is EXACTLY how I feel about representation and endorsements, too. When your name is associated with a subpar product or a controversial brand, it is seen as a reflection of the person supporting said brand as well. People were in an uproar over the Balenciaga situation, and brand reps have been lightspeed quick in separating with racist, xenophobic, anti-Semitic and homophobic organizations... Although the Shroud situation is different, the principle is the same. Your name is attached to a brand that does not appreciate its clientele, or their money. If any lesson was learned from these larger scale situations noted above; it's that your reputation is on the line too, but above all, your character and integrity are also on full display, and yours are shining as bright as those gorgeous multichromes! 😊 I am so proud of your decision to distance yourself from the brand and ultimately remove your affiliate status. There are definitely other influencers who can learn a thing or two from you Amy 🙌🏼

About Face foundation works so well for me too. Shade match is on point and for reference I have combination skin and I'm 40years old. But I also live in SLC where we have 4 seasons in ONE day & low humidity. I've yet to see how it will work when summer hits. I agree with you - so many factors involved.
@2OblivionandBeyond7 ай бұрын
What is really weird to me about the About Face foundation is that so many people say it's hydrating/glowy, and it is SO DRY on me. Granted, i have eczema on my facr, but i have other foundations that are perfectly glowy/hydrating on me.. so I'm just really confused about it. It's still a decent foundation, and im happy to have it since it has a fair olive shade, which is rare, but I just wish it was actually hydrating on me. In terms of the Shroud situation - I was someone who didn't receive an email, which made me feel salty, but i had filed a chargeback, so i assumed it would be what it would be. But then i ended up receiving the palette 2 days ago. She included a lil coupon for $10 off my next purchase as an apology but I don't think I'll ever trust them again because they didn't learn from the first time and find SOMEBODY to inform customers. It took so much in me to even trust them enough to make the order after all the hullabaloo from the first time she ghosted. I was genuinely concerned, and I am glad they're doing better, but now I'm just kinda... apathetic about it all tbh.
@AmyLovesMakeup7 ай бұрын
So I don’t find it super glowy it’s more of a natural finish on my very dry skin but it does a great job and if I throw a glowy product underneath then I’m set 🙌🏻 And thanks for sharing. I’m glad she’s trying to make it right but I wouldn’t feel comfortable purchasing again 😩

$10 coupon to buy from their site. Omfg. I know someone will and now I’m curious what is going to happen there. To be continued… I’m 57 with dry skin and I’m about to try the about-face foundation. I seen all those olive undertone choices I just have to check it out. If not I’ll give to my daughter as per usual.

I'm so glad the Shroud owner is doing better, as I was genuinely concerned, but the whole situation is incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I suspect there are some mental health things going on as well, which I sympathize with, but the lack of communication and transparency, even now, is just baffling. I adore Shroud, and want to continue to support her brand, but I hope she makes some changes to the way things are running. 😕💜

I understand what you mean with the About Face foundation. The more time I have spent in a humid climate, my skin has began to be combo/oily. So while I really live for the skintone/undertone range is so good, but I don't like how dewy it looks. Lol

The more i look at the glam zilla video i came to my decision that when she went to show how the lipstick trick work I noticed how light she kissed the paper towel. So her lipstick didn’t leave that she didn’t put pressure on that towel..

She did the video a second time and it looked like she showed the towel even more and there was no transfer.

Hi Amy First let me say….you look SO pretty!! The makeup today is so soft and beautiful 🤩 I had such a hideous experience with Shroud during the launch of It’s Freakin Bats that I have never ordered another thing! To add insult to injury, two of the shades fell out and shattered. 😑 I thoroughly enjoyed the gossip!😁

I want the big version of that Beauty Bay palette, but I'm trying to stay strong. 😄 A trick Taylor Wynn does with her light-medium coverage concealers is to apply then let it sit for a few seconds to kind of 'thicken up', then blend. It helps give a bit more coverage. 💗💗💗

Im so glad I clicked on a video of yours recently bc now I watch all your content. I especially love your indie reviews but also do you have any tips on determining undertone? Atp I get some foundations in w c & n bc I honestly have no clue what I am lol I almost feel like we’re the exact same skin tone. I thought I was cool but cool tones usually look orange on me

Thank you that’s very sweet! And honestly the only way I was able to figure out my best shade was through trial and error. Sephora lets you do samples of foundation to take home so you could always try a few shades and bring them home in natural light

Not everyone likes kids. It's not weird to say it. You're not required to like them, and, you can have an opinion and feelings about the subject. If people post online they're expecting a kid, they can also expect not 100% of the comments will be positive. I keep hearing people say "well, you used to be a kid, you have to like them, and you have to be happy when others have them." Whelp, I used to be allergic to certain things, and I used to this and that, but if someone else said they have the same problems I wouldn't be happy about it. Understanding people have different perspectives and they can change over time is just being able to understand we are not all the same.
@AmyLovesMakeup7 ай бұрын
Nobody is saying you need to like kids NOBODY. But to say that you’re disappointed someone is having children is just as offensive as people saying they’re disappointed if you aren’t. And just because it’s “online” doesn’t mean it’s still not really freaking weird

I have to be That Guy and mention that Stockholm Syndrome is actually a sexist myth. The woman who the myth is built around was taken hostage during a bank robbery, and the police treated her so terribly that she felt the only people who cared about what happened to her were the bank robbers. The police literally told her they did not care if she died during hostage negotiations. When she was released and denounced the police they claimed that she must have fallen in love with her captors and that she was a hysterical woman.

Tbh i get it but also i'm against "calceling" brands. I mean, of course having 30-60$ dollars sitting in a brands business and not getting what you paid for is TERRIBLE. I TOTALLY GET THAT. But I think they deserve the chance to "bounce back", i reeeeaaally love their paletts 🥹💗 i hope they don't close down :(
