Magnificent lighthouse. Hope there are plans to keep it restored and in good condition. Cant wait to visit Manistee someday. Beautiful little town!

@@scottman895 you really brighten up a lonely holiday season for me. I watched your vids on Christmas most of the day and it took my mind off the holiday blues. Thanks for taking the time to film these! They are so positive and uplifting!

You didn't show any of the broken down streets and closed up businesses. I grew up in/around Manistee in the 70's, 80's and 90's, and I can tell you for a fact, just like any other town USA, that the streets were much better, and business was much better, with much less poverty than today,---when the area had more manufacturing. No, this "tourism replacing production" is not working out so well. Historical fact, during the logging industry of the 1800's; Manistee Michigan had more millionaire's per capita than any city in the USA. If we want our liberty and prosperity back, we have to get back to the philosophies/principles that created them in the first place. Son of "The Road Runner Market".

I used to live here back in the 70's. I left because industries were closing down and no one was hiring. If you didn't have a trade or a profession this was the last place you thought of moving to. Recent visits to Manistee showed that things had changed, been added or definitely improved. I still have a lot of great memories and it's still a beautiful place.

I was eating at that House of Flavors during the last election cycle. Across the street in my view from my table was a closed down gas station with big windows, plastered with campaign posters of democrat candidates. What should that mean to people? It would have made a great campaign TV ad for a free market thinker running for office, but there are none.
