If you wipe your electrical connections with vaseline before connecting them, it stops that green corrosion. It also makes it easier to disconnect them.

Ola Marty if you not using your diesel heater disconnect it because it still using power from the battery when it off it still pulling power to the heater so when not using it disconnect and also in your van toooooooo 👍✌️🤙❤️🇵🇹❤️

if alternator charging then its the battery thats fked, or the associated connections to alternator for charging it need cleaned, also check engine earth strap still connected, VAG lyf lol. Edit: If battery shows less than 12.5 at rest its toast.

Don’t let the glow plugs go off, wait 10 - 15 seconds and start it. When glow plugs relay goes off the plugs cool in milliseconds.

Rubbish, in fact the plugs stay on after the light on dash goes out. Try putting a test light on and you will see this is true. Also try putting your hand on a glow plug that you have seen glow red after 5 minutes and you will be sorry.
