The infinite tsukuyomi makes times slow to a crawl, so while Vader was in that illusion he was living a fulfilling life that gave him everything he wanted. A life where his mom is not dead, his wife and children are alive and living their best life with him, and the jedi council elevating his status to the level he desired. He probably died of old age in his dream exactly when obito's sword kill him.

Just a note for Vader being able to break out of illusions - They mentioned in one of the pop-up boxes that Vader has shown himself to be susceptible to temptation, so even if he's ABLE to break out of an illusion, if it's giving him something he wants, he may not WANT to break out.

Not to mention even if he can break out of illusions they are still capable of catching him off guard which would be enough for Obito to give the final blow.

I got that impression too, that the ending was him giving up and preferring to die with the illusion of his wife.

He would also be unable to break out of the illusion in time, assuming he would at least need a second to break out of it. 25 milliseconds in the real world is equivalent to 80 years in illusion, so Vader already died peacefully in the illusion before Obito struck him.

I honestly love death battles where I like both combatants. Although I like star wars more than Naruto this was a good one. I felt Vader was at least respected in death here.

Almost everyone on the DB Subreddit was confident that Vader was gonna win this... but it's worth pointing out that most people thought that because we also thought that DB might give Vader Legends-scaling, which would have vastly tilted the scales in his favor. And it's clear that they didn't use Legends for this fight because there are a lot of Legends-specific feats that were left out of the analysis. Looking back through the older posts, the general consensus seems to have been that Legends Vader completely stomps Obito, while standard-timeline Vader loses to Ten-Tails Obito. The latter of which ended up being exactly the case.

I think it is that way because recently legends was said to being not canon, so... Obi-wan vs kakashi is probably wrong now lmao.

They did use Legends. They mentioned Vader's suit being a hindrance and Vader hating the suit, when that was only the case in Legends. In Canon the suit was a benefit for Vader and didn't hamper his abilities at all. They also used material from the Ewoks cartoon, which is legends. Honestly I have no idea why they brought up that show, since that moon feat doesn't pertain to Vader at all. So yeah, they picked and chose specific things from both canons, but they did leave out many feats from legends.

This episode was really cool! I'm not super familiar with Naruto or Star Wars, but I was rooting for Obito while expecting Vader to win, so was pretty pleased with the result! That aside, I always enjoy watching your reactions to these, and am very familiar with how much DMCA and copyright claims in general suck for content creators, very unfun having to dance around lines that are incredibly blurred and hard to discern. Dealing with complainers is equally unfun, but I hope you continue to do these for as long as Death Battle continues putting them out! Thank you for doing these, keep being awesome!

I'm honestly pretty surprised they didn't talk much about Starkiller (the Force Unleashed guy) outside of a namedrop in the sidebar, considering Starkiller is one of the most impressive force users you could scale Vader directly to. Maybe they're planning to talk about him in his own episode in the not so distant future? That's what I'm hopeful for at least

To be honest they didn't actually bring up much if anything from Legends and other sources besides sticking to the Canon feats and scaling like the Kakran Grandmother waking up and shattering the Planet while Vader was on it.

That's completely assuming that water is connected to the rest of the ocean. And being connected to the rest of the ocean does not mean that water has the weight of the whole ocean due to different water levels. Conclusion: Use your head next time.
