Supposedly when Godzilla used his atomic breath while falling, he was trying to slow down to make a safer landing, though I felt like they didn't do a good job portraying that. As far as the battle, I feel like this is the most obvious ending so far: Godzilla is the King of the Monsters, while Gamera is really just meant as a child-friendly alternative, so of course Godzilla wouldn't be dethroned here. Also, he survived a black hole (which I guess you just forgot about during your predictions) and if you can survive a black hole, let's just say you deserve to have "God" in your name.

Gamera movies show quite a bit of gore....but in terms of kaiju power Godzilla is a solid 9.8/10 and Gamera is about a 7/10, that is perfectly respectable for Gamera

Just saying that the subject matter in Godzilla was more suited to adults while Gamera's was always geared toward children, although both Gamera and Godzilla had dark ages in the Showa Era, both had pretty amazing Heisei films, But the point still stands that Japanese children are hardcore if they watch Gamera movies

I have recently became a big fan of Kaiju's and Godzilla is a part of my childhood but I must say that I liked Gamera's story more. I just find it more interesting than a Godzillasarous being mutated by a nuke and becoming an indestructible force of nature though Godzilla is still awesome. I gotta say I want to watch some Gamera movies now because he looks like an awesome monster. One thing I noticed about this fight is its quite comparable to Superman vs Goku. Superman/Godzilla: The originals who came before their opponents. They have a signature attack that can disintegrate virtually anything in sight and gets their powers from an outside source and are seen as the most powerful character in their respective casts, they can also fly despite how seemingly impossible it seems to be. They have also been both good and evil. Gamera/Goku: Protectors of the planet and very intelligent fighters. They get their powers from an inner force that depends on their physical being and they can even draw it from other things if need be. They are very smart fighters but have their limits despite how strong they seem they are not invincible and must fight hard to over come great odds. In the fight: Goku and Gamera were able to keep up with Godzilla and Superman and even gave them quite a run for their money but Godzilla and Superman's sheer power and durability were too much for them to handle. It seemed like they had won at first but that hope is quickly dashed when Godzilla and Superman show up once more and completely obliterate them, leaving virtually nothing left.

I believe the main reason 1998 Godzilla was hated so much was because the monster that was shown in the movie, was not the monster many long time Godzilla fans (myself included) were expecting. Zilla as a monster is a good monster on his own, but because he was advertised as Godzilla, many hated him and the film. If Zilla was advertised as his own monster and not Godzilla, he would have received less hate.

Dude, if they revealed Gamera's battle pattern during the starting analysis, it would be pretty straightforward and easy to tell who would win. Death Battle's style is that they'll give you even analysis of both combatants in the beginning so that the winner would not be so obvious, let you watch the battle and then give you the full analysis of why so and so defeated so and so. You have been watching all their videos so far, haven't you picked up on their pattern yet? I know I have.

Darren180223 Well, oftentimes they seem to reveal the important bit in the analysis, but in a concealed sort of way. Like with Goku VS Superman, they measured the two characters' strengths and all, but only in the conclusion did they really put numbers on the feats and give a side-by-side comparison. Int his one, the only hint they gave was that Gamera was a strategist, which doesn't imply that he has to run away first.

Godzilla 1998 isn't a bad movie it just isn't a good Godzilla movie. Definitely watch any of the Japanese made Toho Godzilla movies, they are great. As for this death battle I had no doubt who would win. After all there is (SPOILER ALERT(just in case)) There is only one King of the Monsters. Good video and I always find it interesting to hear your thoughts on the analysis.

Notice how they are alternating between Sprite-based and 3D battle scenes. Odds are good that Batman vs Captain 'Murica will be sprite-based and Epyon vs Tigerzord (I really don't see the logic behind this one as the Tigerzord is utterly outclassed and Voltron vs Megazord would have just been so much more sensible and I know of no one who even thought about Epyon vs TIgerzord before) will most certainly be 3D.

demomanchaos Umm..Voltron outcasses the Megazord by a FAR greater amount than Epyon outclasses the Tigerzord. Voltron's feats are great, like a mid-level Superman. Still, it would make more sense thematically to put Voltron and the Megazord together because they are comparable in size. Eypon is dwarfed by Tigerzord in size.

I'm a big Gamera fan, but I still enjoyed watching my favourite turtle fighting the king of the monsters, even if he lost. Wiz and Boomstick described Gamera (at the convention when this was first played at) as being "Turtle Batman" because of how he strategizes. Best. Nickname. Ever.

@ 14:40 I knew you were in trouble and your knowledge of only the crap American version from 1998 was going to hinder you in your decision. Forget the silly drop kick and flying thing that came from Toho's pretty much goofy period, Godzilla has gone up against much stronger, bigger enemies than Gamera and come out just fine. Not to mention, when you earn the title 'King of the Monsters', you have to consider Godzilla may have more going for him than the Matthew Broderick version.

Even when this fight was announced back in May after Fulgore vs Sektor with Godzilla showing up first and after they announced Gamera back in June I knew Godzilla was going to win since he's faced a lot of different monsters, robots, the military and even aliens for the past 60 years since he was introduced. But for my pick for the next fight I would say Captain America because he's a Super Solider and he's got a very tough shield and Batman is only human and I don't know if they will included prep time for Batman but it can be very close.

***** I've heard at least two times that Batman needed the help of Robin to defeat Death Stroke and even still just because you beat one super soldier doesn't mean you beat them all. Master Chief is a Super Soldier and there is no way Batman is beating him in a first encounter. Speaking of first encounters Cap is an entirely new opponent and as such Batman doesn't know what to expect. With Deathstroke he is from the same universe and has fought Batman a few times, Batman knows him. Cap is another story so Bat's is fighting blind...no pun intended.

By the way, just to inform you, there is no way that Gamera will ever be in the sequel to the 2014 Godzilla movie. The reason they've never been in a movie together is because they're actually owned and created by two completely different companies that have no intention of working together, or collaborating. They've always been sort of rivals and competitors, as Gamera was made by the Daiei company (which now is defunct, but owned by Kadokawa Pictures) specifically to cash in on the Godzilla movie craze at the time when the Godzilla film series created by Toho was making their sequels.

But then again, we have seen things in our lifetime like WCW being bought by WWE, Marvel doing a short-lived crossover with DC years ago, and Warner Brothers and Disney cartoon characters apearing together in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, so I suppose one can never truly say never. Batman vs Captain america? Ummm sorry but batmans smarter than cap and he has alot more in his arsenal like fear gas, ice bombs, etc while Cap has his sheild and standard grade military weapons i.e grenades and pistols and batman faces peophhle with those everyday. The only two things cap got going for him is the sheild and the super serum. Buttt batman has faced up against stronger opponets like Killer croc and bane.

Keep in mine Bane did out strategize and beaten Batman in their first encounter. And a reminder they did give Batman standard equipment in Spiderman and it did not include any of them. And Capt is a lot better fighter than Killer Croc or Bane.

Well yes that is true but Batman is a lot better of a fighter than Cap is also batman can use pressure point tactics against cap. Though i do believe that cap could win if he got a good swing of his shield batman can outmaneuver cap pretty easily and use smoke bombs to distract him. Cap also has a chance of winning if he can pull mjoinr out of his ass annd swing it at the caped crusader.

You are forgetting that Cap is a super soldier He is way stronger then Batman and a little stronger then Bane While yes Batman's equipment is better nothing he will use can break Cap's sheild on a first encounter Also while yes Batman is smarter school wise they are the same strategy wise Cap is the leader of the Avengers for a reason and fighting wise (H to H) Batman knows more styles of combat against Cap So I'm neutral right now

Even if you don't like kaiju movies I would highly recommend the original Godzilla. Not the 1956 Raymond Burr King of the Monsters edit. The 1954 original. It's a masterpiece. It's not about giant monsters fighting. It's about a disaster that you cannot fight against. And when you consider the period it was made (Less than 10 years after a nuclear bomb was dropped in war, the same year civilians were irradiated by the U.S. military.) it becomes outright terrifying. It's a legitimate horror film. There are parts that honestly made me cry. And that isn't even getting into all the insane behind the scenes details. Really some of the later Showa films (epic gravity defying dropkicks) are almost insulting by comparison. They aren't bad. I love them. But they're just nowhere near as good as the original.
