Godzilla's losses mainly come from the movies where he's a villain monster. Even then, most times, he is defeated, but not killed. Just neutralized in some way. Like in Mothra vs Godzilla, he's cocooned and dumped into the ocean. HIs three deaths are in the original "Godzilla", "Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah" (aka GMK, and he still kills all the "good" kaiju), and Godzilla vs Destroyah, where he is not killed by the enemy, but is literally experiencing nuclear meltdown from absorbing too much radiation.

And Godzilla tears Battra's throat out, killing him while they do.

The "Godzilla has more loses" is primarily due to the fact that Godzilla just has more movies, clocking in at 32 (Not counting the American films) compared to Gamera's 12. Fun fact: This Death Battle only scratched the surface when it comes to Godzilla’s abilities. By absorbing large amounts of excess radiation, Godzilla will enter a state known as “Burning Godzilla”. This state dramatically increases Godzilla’s radiation output and body temperature, to the point where just standing next to a building will cause it to start melting completely. This state is so dangerous that scientists theorized that, if nothing was done, Godzilla’s temperature would rise until he became hot enough to melt through the Earth itself down into the planet’s core, destroying both it and the entire planet from within. While in this state, Godzilla gains access to his most powerful attack: the “Infinite Spiral Heat Ray”. This attack is much more powerful than not just the standard blue atomic breath, but also the “Red Spiral Ray”. On top of that, the Infinite Spiral Heat Ray’s temperature and power will rise exponentially each time Godzilla uses it. Considering that Godzilla’s standard atomic breath is already 500,000 degrees Celsius (900,000°F), you can only imagine how hot the Infinite Spiral Heat Ray can be.

I heard that another reason that Godzilla and Gamera weren't meant to fight each other is that each studio didn't want to have their monster seen as the villain Since if they had to fight each other one of them Had to become the villain and Toho didn't want to fully back pedal Godzilla into that role like he was in the 62 King Kong vs Godzilla, and Gamera wouldn't be the villain as in all of his film appearances Gamera has at least been seen as the Anti-Hero Role(The Heisei Gamera Films.) so they would of had to pull something similar as Godzilla vs Kong and have to two fight but under the strange reasoning that an unknown 3rd big bad was behind it but being that the idea of this coming together was around 2001-2003 I don't think something like that as an idea would of been even thought of so it would of had to be a straight forward 1 v 1 and as said I heard nether studio wanted to have their monster seen as the bad guy.

It's funny to think about and very entertaining for me personally. He's like a really grumpy superhero when he's fighting other monsters but also a strict father with his son. But i DEFINITELY like it best when he's portrayed as neutral or a straight up villain. I don't know what it is but at some point i just love having to root for a monster that fights worse monsters in order to go back to being an unstoppable angry force of nature and kill all of humanity cause of his own personal but also very symbolic vendetta. I should've figured that Bethany wouldn't like Goji since I love that he's still got this fearless warrior personality and emotions but is still the opposite of the cute heartwarming and sympathic monsters we always get 😅

I actually saw the first Godzilla movie...my dad showed it to me as a child, thus started a love of Kaiju that I have to this day...I actually have seen a Gamera movie once too when I rented a VHS from the video store back in the 90's Godzilla, or as he's known as in his native land of Japan "Gojira" was made by the Japanese as a representation of the horrors of Nuclear weapons....they were literally ground zero for what they could do to people when used and they never want to see that happen to people ANYWHERE in the world. That's why the very first Godzilla film had him as a rampaging FORCE OF NATURE, to show just how dangerous nuclear power could be if used as a weapon or unwisely. Sure he mellowed over the years and became a hero character for a very long time...but his first movie was ALL about how dangerous nuclear power could be. Also the reason he knows judo? The guy they got to play him in the suit when he started to be a hero character more, was a Judoka (person who practices judo) and he brought that to his performance. It's because of his nature as being...a well...force of nature...that the 1998 Godzilla movie with the more iguana looking Godzilla that was made by Tri-Star pictures was so disliked by the Japanese...that's why it left on a clifhanger ending hinting for a sequel that would never be. Toho never greenlit another movie and then when the license for them to make movies ran out Toho bought the rights to that version of Godzilla and removed the "God" from the name...leaving simply "Zilla". The actor who played Godzilla so many times was at the first showing of that movie and said "He doesn't have the soul of Godzilla", and the Japanese have remarked that the version of Godzilla made by Tri-Star and thus, America at the time was very American in that "They couldn't conceive of something their weapons couldn't destroy" since Zilla was killed by a common missile...something that classic Godzilla has never even flinched at. In fact it wasn't long after Toho bought the rights to Zilla that they had him fight Godzilla in one of their movies...he died in two hits...a tail smack into a building and then atomic fire breath to blow it up. Over the years they have mellowed a bit on Zilla and use it to poke fun at the US by saying that "They thought it was Godzilla" even though it wasn't.

Godzilla has a ton of movies than Gamera and Kong, I mainly grew up watching Godzilla movies. There were some movie where he played as the evil monster aka Kaiju. But all threw his time fighting other Monsters threw out his films makes a good compact that Godzilla isn't a creature that wants destruction, Godzilla fights other Monsters not only to protect us but manly protect the earth because without the earth Godzilla has no place to call home cause every victory he wins against a Monster he immediately goes back into the ocean waiting for the next Threat, and that's why I respect Godzilla.

15:35 At the current time of this video Godzilla had 44 wins,9 losses & 7 ties,DB only showed it on screen & didn't say it verbally like they did with his losses.

They must've been under the assumption that the double ending rumor was true, because they said that Godzilla officially lost to King Kong. Sorry, but that rumor is false. Though that movie was re-edited in the US, the ending didn't change. The outcome is left for the viewers to decide. That or maybe they saw the movie and decided that Kong won.

While it was good to notice that Godzilla has lost more fights that's largely because Godzilla has a lot more movies than Gamera does so most of those losses are to the same monsters: Mothra (one of the few benevolent monsters and also one of the few female ones), King Kong (the first time only), Destroya, and a couple others.
@EntertainmentFan11 Жыл бұрын
Regarding his original fight with Kong, the outcome was debatable. It was never made clear if Kong won or if Godzilla won. For all we know, it could've been a draw. Plus, there's the fact that the double ending rumor is actually FALSE.

FINALLYYYYYYYYYY I am the one who pestered you guys many many MANY Death Battle reactions ago lmao. Now on to Mechagodzilla vs DragonZord
@onemuststand7353 Жыл бұрын
Really a shame they had to do this death battle. If anything, a Godzilla and Gamera team up would've been more lore accurate rather than a fight between the two. Gamera may have the more noble reason but both of them have really taken the title of guardian of earth. For Gamera, it's the heroic job he's been tasked. For Godzilla, it's his territorial duty as the strongest of all. I'm still hoping that there's some sort of chance of an actual movie team up between the two that does them justice like Godzilla vs Kong did.
@CertavusGrey5450 Жыл бұрын
Tbf, there are a lot of death battle opponents who would more likely join forces(eventually) then fight. I remember hearing(forgot where) that one reason there hasn’t been a team up movie is because Toho didn’t want to split the profits while providing the more popular monster. Was something I heard randomly so I could be(probably am) wrong.

This is one of their older videos that hasn’t necessarily held up well. The notably shoddy animation, the really awful model for Godzilla, not to mention this was back when Death Battle was just combining every version ever of a given character to make a strange hodge lodge of all of their feats across incarnations, rather than just using a single established incarnation like they do nowadays. The true travesty here is that Godzilla has only been on Death Battle one time, when there are SO many opponents people want to see him go up against.

Godzilla was never gonna lose to Gamera. Gamera has no feats that scale anywhere NEAR Godzilla’s. Like I can compared any incarnation of both sides. Gamera comes up very short. Godzilla has way too many incarnations and too many OP feats to boot. Like don’t get me started on his various comic feats and game feats. Knowing Death Battle, they left out a ton of feats Godzilla has done. But again, Death Battle is not the most credible when it comes to power, scaling and doing the research. They are known to be pretty lazy with it.
