Something I haven’t seen anyone point out, yes, Doom did say “footdive” which is a reference to ultimate marvel vs capcom 3, where doom is one of, if not the best character in the game. His footdive move is memed a lot because it’s a good move for one, but also because he yells “FOOTDIVE!” everytime he uses it, which is a lot 🤣

Just as an fyi, past movie versions of Doctor Doom are very unfaithful when it comes to his "powers". He was never bestowed powers in the comics. He learned them all, as they were all in the form of either magic or technology. And that's ALL iterations of Doom in the comics. Him having "powers" is unique only to the movies.

Fun Fact: Doom's "Foot Diving" is a reference to his appearance in Marvel VS Capcom 3 where players tend to use foot dive in their combos (sometimes more than once like in the video). So that was probably why Doom was doing it so many times to the point Lex had cut him off. That was honestly my favorite part of this death battle.

Funny thing regarding the spoilers. The guy mentioned the outcome was obvious, and what’s funny about that was that yes, when it was first revealed, that’s what everyone thought. But as the wait period went on, so many people in the community were not only unsure of Doom actually wins, but that a good number of people placed their bets on Lex. The guy says the outcome was obvious, despite the fact that this turned out to be one of the more divided fights of the season, so it wasn’t an obvious outcome in any sense. Also, for next time, both are fighting game characters. Heihachi is from Tekken, and Geese is from Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters

Yeah, I find it so weird that everyone calls this MU a boring stomp, despite it being closer than a majority of the episodes in season 8. Even the researchers for this episode said the debate was pretty close.

I remember that I stuck with Doom since I knew that he is one of the most dangerous villains from the Marvel universe and that his armor was absurd like there was a good reason why I underestimated him when he fought Darth Vader back in Season 2 and this was my redemption for not siding with Doom the first time.

I don’t get how this fight is obvious. Plus “waste of an episode” is a strange statement since some later fights that could be considered obvious ended up being some of my favorites in terms of fight animation so… no. That commenter was just being a jerk.

the comic where Doom became Iron Man is called Infamous Iron Man, and it was genuinely fantastic, in-character, and a compelling evolution. But bc something something executives demand the power of status quo trumps all, he just kinda flopped back one day for no strong reason, which was immensely disappointing. This episode is amazing, it's just as dialogue-heavy and hammy as a fight between these two should be. It was pretty disappointing to see how many people immediately dogpiled that it was a stomp for Doom, when that is nowhere near the case. It's true Doom's arsenal is generally a lot better, but Lex should be at least equal in strength and probably a fair bit faster. With that in mind and Doom's magic and suit having very flip-floppy defenses against phasing, something Lex's suit often does, it was only a win by a hair's breath, mainly thanks to the Siphon (which they mentioned he has also put into his suit and all of his Doombots too).

Sometimes the winner is obvious and it can still be fun to watch....... like one of the more recent ones that, didn't even have the animation try to hide how much of a curb stomp battle it was. Though unlike a lot of people, Ris might be happy that it is a short fight, as those with a queasy stomach might find the animation...ehh, Hard to swallow.

Two KZbinrs who discuss Death Battle named Biff and Nemesis have already mentioned this, but this is one of those episodes that the community can't agree if it's one-sided or close. Some people believe Doom stomps, others believe either one of them could realistically take the victory (I'm in the latter category personally.) But regardless, I think many of owe Lex an apology, he's far more powerful than most of us gave him credit for. I personally don't get why, he's consistently fought non-Kryptonians with an insane level of power, it's probably because of how bad the research was in Iron Man vs Lex Luthor, where they said he can only match Kryptonians through exploiting weakness and can't fight non-Kryptonians, that's just false, and I'm happy Death Battle realized that. Also, this is the last time I'll say this, but I would love for you to react to your old Link vs Cloud reaction before the rematch. I apologize if I'm getting annoying, this is the last time I'm reminding you this. I just really want you to do it.

Heihachi vs. Geese is another "Fighting Game Villains" episode like Akuma vs. Shang Tsung or Shao Kahn vs. M. Bison. Heihachi is one of the main antagonists in the Tekken series, while Geese Howard is the main villain of the Fatal Fury/King of Fighters series.

About the next fight, I don't remember who wins(wouldn't spoil regardless, and I don't remember who won the most recent fight either for that matter, my memory is not great), but I'm siding with Geese because as a Canadian I know the terror they instill. The next one is hard to predict. I know what you said from the beginning but it really was hard. They hardly gave us many details and different numbers till the end. The numbers at the beginning were similar to one another. I had to guess the numbers for their greatest feats. My guesses were ACTUALLY close to the numbers they revealed. In the end I was right!

I might state that I like a future death battle or the music, but I won’t ever spoil the winner. For example, there’s a battle coming up that’s my personal favorite in the series. I love the matchup and the battle was awesome! I don’t know if you’d be ok with me spoiling who the fighters are, though. But I’m not going to reveal the winner because I don’t know if you’ve seen it yet and there’s always the possibility that someone in the comment section hasn’t seen it. I recently joined the Anime Speedrunning Discord server, so I've been playing some anime games (like the Inuyasha one I recently uploaded). Did a few runs of the more recent Captain Tsubasa game, Mission to Namek and Dragon Ball Kart (both of which I uploaded a video for, actually), Dragon Ball Z Tournament, a couple PS2 Melty Blood games, and a Katekyou Hitman Reborn game. I think that's all so far...Most of them are fighting games, so they were rather short and easy to learn.

to be fair to the guy, this battle actually was incredible obvious, as long as you know anything about comics. i mean, all you really need to do is look back at the lex vs iron man deat battle. lex didn't even stand a chance of beating tony and tony isn't even close to being in the same ballpark as dr doom. i'm sorry that you feel like you were spoiled, but this fightly actually was a waste of an episode, so i can't really blame the guy.

yeah and doom treats multiversal threats as slight annoyances at best. but i don't even need to get into feats or anything. as i said, by death battle's own logic, as determined in a previous fight: iron man > lex. and since the comics clearly stated dr doom > iron man, we therefore have dr doom > lex. lex cannot hope to defeat doom, when he didn't even manage to defeat someone miles below doom's level. it's simple logic, really.
