Let's get down to brass tacks here: This fight ultimately came down to "Who could last the longest pitted against an opponent with an elemental advantage?" In the end, it wasn't going to be the plant lizard, or the fire lizard- it's going to be the lizard with a motherfucking shell armoring 85% of his body, simply because defense. Yes, Blastoise can't fly, and yes, Blastoise can't stun or sleep his foes, but those are techniques focused not on enduring your weakness, but on trying to avoid it. One can only dodge an advantaged opponent for so long.

Plus, Blastoise has a lot of Ice-type moves that counter Charizard, while Charizard doesn't have anything to counter Blastoise, save for moves like Energy Ball or Solar Beam that he doesn't learn by level-up. And, of course, poor Venusaur didn't have any Rock-type moves in his set to take Charizard down.

I do respect venusaur alot. Incredibly underrated, despite predicting he was not going to be able to do much too. But you shouldn't let this get to you either. A good trainer can make the outcomes here completely change with enough effort.

venosaur my favorite too.but charizard started faster and writers make venosaur just stand there while c. and b. fighting.if i was venosaur i would use leech seed both of them.(or at least on blastoise since its slow than charizard) then use it sleep powder.while they sleeping i wll gain hp so i just use solarbeam on b. and attacks like body slam on c. and win.but v.doesnt have a change to win in this video because charizard fly to get away from powder and while v. fight charizard venosaur cant hurt blastoise because its on shell.(but i still dont get it why isnt used leach seed.)

Here are the rules of Death Battle(just in case there are fanboys who are spewing BS) The warriors can only know of each other if they do know each other in canon in both OFFICIAL universes (as seen with Leonardo strategizing in his match against his brothers). Otherwise, they cannot know each other's movesets. Even if they do know of each other in canon, no one is allowed to prepare for the fight (e.g. Batman and Spider-Man had to use their default weapons instead of using weapons designed to exploit each other's weaknesses, like Spider-Man's weakness to pesticides). A battle has to end with the loser dying, at least as far as physical forms are concerned (for example, being reduced to little more than a ghost, or gods and similar characters left with no mortal avatar to continue fighting with). Pacifist warriors will not have their peaceful nature interrupt the fight, and both combatants will have any personality restraints from killing removed. However, if their traditional arsenal uses nonlethal weapons, they cannot change it (e.g. Batman). They can only use lethal weapons if they have them as part of their regular arsenal. All other traits will be represented with accuracy based on the warrior's canon universes (as stated with Goku, expanded universes, like GT, are only allowed to be mentioned if they do not conflict with the original canon, like the DBZ manga). All consistent and canon sources available during the time of the episode's release will be examined by the hosts. If the warrior has different canons, the canon used will most likely be the most popular depiction (e.g. G1 Starscream, G4 Rainbow Dash, and modern-day Batman). The research will avoid biases. If one warrior is allowed abilities from a non-canon source, the other warrior must be allowed to use their own non-canon sources as well. Also, if a certain depiction of the warrior has them ridiculously overpowered or inconsistent (like Shao Khan turning into a hydra in the live-action films), or powers that would be difficult to examine logically (e.g. pre-1986 Superman could destroy entire solar systems WITH A SNEEZE and could both "super-weave" and "super-shapeshift") then it will not be used. Not every weapon owned by the warriors in every canon will be used. Instead, only the ones they are commonly using (as seen with Rogue or Batman) or the battle will allow some of their best weapons (e.g. Link and Cloud were equipped with their best armor and magic). If a warrior originated from foreign media, the American dub will not be used if it contradicts the original source in any way (i.e. Goku's abilities used the Japanese canon, not the English dubs and mistranslations - which for sake of example slowed down his Instant Transmission). To get as many common abilities as possible, the warrior will be shown at their latest depictions or their oldest age as an active warrior (e.g. Harry Potter is depicted as his is at the end of The Deathly Hallows when he learned all his skills, not while he was a young kid in The Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone where he only knew minor spells. Or Goku knowing Super Saiyan 4 and being 53 years old, which is his age in DBGT). However future canon will be avoided (some characters like Superman will gain more power in the future in DC One Million while some characters like Batman will grow old and weak like in The Dark Knight Returns.) Summoning other combatants is not allowed unless the battle calls for it (like how Eggman and Wily fought with their armies). Unless the battle asks for multiple characters for each side, the combatants must fight alone with their weapons, even if they are used to fighting with a partner (like how Pikachu wasn't allowed to have Ash command him). The only exception is if the fighter uses a creature for an attack that can reasonably be replaced by a non-combatant projectile (like how Peach can summon a sheep that doesn't do anything but fly at the opponent and put them to sleep with contact, or the Goomba firing Mini-Goombas) or when the act would fall under using the environment to their advantage (like how Batman can summon bats from the surrounding area with his gadgets), but the fighter cannot be dependent on these creatures and, in cases of summoning as an attack, the creatures cannot act on their own (like how Link and Cloud were not allowed to use summons or fairies because the summons attack on their own once summoned and the fairies are sentient beings making a decision to help Link once he runs out of hearts). The terrain chosen in the fight will either be a terrain from the fighters' franchises (like Superman's Metropolis or Goku's mountainous terrain) or would be a location that both warriors are experienced in (like Batman and Spider-Man fighting at night in a city). The area itself however doesn't matter nor play any role in determining the outcome of the battle, and even the entire battle itself is just a visual representation of the researchers' conclusions. The environment only becomes important if a character's skills use it, like with Leonardo hiding in the shadows or Chun-Li/Mai wall-jumping. Vehicles, steeds, and the like are generally not allowed (for example, Batman was not allowed to use his Batmobile, Tails didn't have any of his mech walkers, Link didn't have his horse/boat/train/loftwing, although Harry got his broomstick and Bomberman got a Rooey). The fight at the end of the episode is not what determines the victor in battle. It is nothing more than a fun little dramatization showcasing most if not all of the research displayed beforehand of the combatants in action. The winners are determined before the battle through quasi-scientific analysis of their abilities, and the character with the objectively better abilities will win.

CHARIZARD! NOoooo! and VENUSAUR! erm... The Froggy plant thing! Oh, no! IT'S LUIGI VS TAILS... ALL OVER AGAIN! Okay, that's done... Now I'm 0-3 out of all of my official predictions! I got it all wrong(Venusaur my choice to win, Charizard for being an obviously best attacker, or the random event that everyone dies) ouch! However, I learned a ton that I didn't know. Move over Venusaur... Blastoise is gonna be my first pokemon! I haven't played a single pokemon game, yet feel rewarded by watching this(except for the gruesome plant and animal abuse lol). In the end Death Battle also proved which of these would win in a no win scenario. I gambled and went into that battle on a blind choice! I knew the series enough from the first few anime seasons and 1st movie. No matter what gen I get for my 1ST game that Blastoise pokemon will always be on my team!

You know what, there is a definite answer to this Death Battle, and that's Venusaur. They overlooked what would normally be Venusaur's most useless move: growl. Charizard attacks Blastoise first, and Venusaur keeps growling, to lower their attack. Since it hits both, the 2 won't notice when battling it out. Once their attack stats are down low enough, Venusaur would attack the biggest threat: Charizard. Due to Charizard's proud warrior mentality not allowing it to use fire moves on Venusaur (it's been explained before that Charizard will only use fire moves against fire opponents in the wild), Venusaur would end up killing Charizard, due to Charizard's lower attack, and with the help of a sleep powder. A quick Synthesis later, Venusaur would go after Blastoise next. Due to Blastoise taking so much damage to Charizard, Venusaur healing due to the Synthesis, and Venusaur having the type advantage, Venusaur would win. Plus, with Blastoise being the one who would want to increase defence, Venusaur would be able to get off stat moves: Leech Seed during Rain Dance, and Poison Powder during Metal Defence. From there on, Venusaur's SolarBeam would be hot enough to melt through Blastoise's shell, and with Razor Leaf's strength of cutting through wood, Blastoise's exposed inners would be torn up by Venusaur. While Venusaur is charging, Blastoise would attack him with physical moves (as Flash Cannon is the only special move that could do good damage to Venusaur), and due to the Growl weakening, they still wouldn't do much.

***** If you were in a battle to the death, who would you fight: the one who's insulting you, or the one who's punching you? Charizard and Blastoise would be too busy fighting each other to go after Venusaur, as Venusaur's simply making noises. Plus, since they're wild Pokémon, and as such don't know each other's moves before the battle, Blastoise and Charizard wouldn't know what Venusaur's doing when making a noise. They would not realise their attack is going down, as both of their attack stats would be getting scaled down.

Nice to see I was not alone in voting for the Bazooka Turtle, this was a very fun fight to make and I'm happy to see most people are okay with the results. As for next time, the character you saw was named Fulgore a combat robot featured in the "Killer Instinct" series, the same series that Orchid and Riptor who both fought Ivy and Yoshi come from. (Both of which are great episodes you should watch haha)

To think about it, math always there in pokemon. So the winner of this death battle is blastoise. If they all were all max level on everything, charizard would have win about 52% of the death battles because of his two mega forms and his mega ablilities sun dought, and dragon skin. Iknow tthis because i have two charizarda on my team in x and y. They kick asss if i need help with speed or type difference.

***** Umm..... no. Do you realize that Torterra is a Grass/GROUND right? I am a Fire/FIGHTING type. Both fire and ground are super effective against steel. Plus, his moveset barely does ANYTHING to us. I'm the fastest of the 3 so I would be able to kill Empoleon in 1-2 Close Combat's. Torterra easily dominates Empoleon by type advantage and ground type moves.

Good question through, but Blastoise was in his shell for almost the entire battle until the 1 on 1 moment against Charizard, so I guess Petal Dance would be useless. Plus i think they used the third gen pokedex. If that's the case then it would make sense. Again, my thought only and not fact so don't Tackle me. (www.serebii.net/pokedex-rs/003.shtml)

there is too much ways that this battle could have ended like it was a triple K.O since they are pokemon starters evolutions they could team up together to battle...Team Rocket? XD Blastoise could have gotten beat first and Charizard could have won against Venusaur. In Pokemon Gold I had a Charizard with oddly high defense stats in addition to high offense & speed, I can remember that I had Charizard going up against a Water type that was a significantly higher level (I think it was 15-20 levels higher), and yet my Charizard was able to tank *three* Hydro Pump hits before Charizard's health dropped into the red. Sadly, the Pokemon Gold cartridge that had that Charizard is no longer functional. :(

Venausur is great, sleep is really powerful, if it had worked on Charizard instead of Blastoise the entire fight might have gone very differently. I wonder how the hell they included likelihood in the equation, for example one attack with 1% accuracy and one identical, except for 99% accuracy would have the same number of affected scenarios, since there are just 2 possible effects in every situation it is used in, even though one attack is clearly superior.

as for the animation, they have 3 animators now,each working on different fights. this is why they can now put out new episodes every 3 weeks, 2-D fights are alternated between Mali, (who did Fox v. Bucky ground, & This Battle Royal) and Eric, (who did Fox v. Bucky space, & Luigi v. Tails), while simultaneously aloting Torrian time to produce his epic 3-D fights like Robocop v. Terminator

Ok heres how it works in simple mode: Fire Beats Grass Beats Water Beats Fire .. ok now everyone took damage do it again Fire Grass Water .. they are almost dead do it again! Fire Grass....they died from water. Fire may be vicious and grass may be strategic... but water is based on specialty in its moves. Even though this is not the way the battle went, its pretty good to me

​@@Ris_Grestar if you are doing a kanto gameplay bulbasaur is definitely the best choice, in terms of the gyms it wrecks brock and misty, resists Lt surge, matches erica, and koga and wrecks Giovanni's ground types, the only gyms it doesn't fair well against are sabrina and Blaine, as well as team rocket who use mostly ground and poison types.

Blastoises cannons are pointed outwards as shown in the Pokemon cartoon series. Blast pies could barely bring his arms in making it impossible for him to rip Charizard's wings off. Close combat, Charizard wins and should have. :/ All I'm saying is that they should have choreographed the battle differently but over all excellent job.

This battle was epically Brutal, Like all battle royals, and Blastoise is my 3rd favorite Pokemon and i loved how he was eating Venusaur's flower at the end, anyway are you going to go by chronological now, I thought you would say this in this Video, if you are then next is Rogue vs Wonder Woman. ps that is Fulgore, the psycho robot from Killer Instinct, though who he will be fighting is not yet confirmed.

I think the Venusaurs biggest mistake was putting Blastoise to sleep, because, in a sense, Blastoise was unintentionally defending Venusaur from Charizard, jut by being stronger. But once Blastoise was asleep, he was weaker, so Charizard decided to murder Venusaur instead. How do u think it would have went if this didn't happen? (I was also going for Blastoise)

I suspect Fulgore ( the character in the Next Time segment) is going to face Cyrax or Sektor from Mortal Kombat. I don't know what Fulgore can really do, so I can't say who would win there. I can say that I was expecting Charizard to win but was favoring Blastoise here. I knew Venusaur wasn't much of a threat, but I wasn't sure if Blastoise could take the punishment Charizard could dish out.

I'm with you on that,I like Squirtle and Wartortle more than Blastoise though my preference is I like Charmander and Charizard more than Charmeleon.But Charmander and Squirtle are my favorites out of them but Charmander is most favorite Pokemon next to Pikachu.
