These are all of Zatana's spells spelled backwards (or rather the right way around): "Red rabbit in a hat!", "Chains, ensnare her!", "Become rabbits!", "Let this barrier of reflection remain intact; and reverse this magical might against its source", "No more witches"

DC's magic users simply do not get enough love compared to Marvel's magic users. Zatara, his daughter Zatanna, and Doctor Fate are just so cool and have a lot of potential for movies and big TV shows.

Giovanni Zatara, last words: "Constantine, If you do not deliver my daughter safely from this place my shade shall hound you through all eternity. Is that understood?" A good line from anyone but given who we're talking about he may have MEANT IT. I'm also a big fan of the Phantom Stranger, even if the whole 'Appear, be cryptic, sod off' thing gets old sometimes.

Zatanna was supposed to get a movie,but sadly it got scrapped. You can see her in a poster flyer briefly in BVS though,so that's something. Always irritated me that they used enchantress for suicide squad and had her get killed by literal magicless nobodies (unless you count el Diablo,but he got bodied) when it is canon that nothing can kill/damage her if it isn't magic,which is why Justice League Dark was even made, in case the normal league or squad couldn't stop it due to magical issues. It was what caused Constantine and Zatanna to even be added to the justice League radar in the first place after all

I was so happy to see that Zatanna won this battle in the end. The spectacular and dazzling Mistress of Magic is greatly underrated in the DC-verse. I love magician archetypes in fiction, that I quickly came to love Zatanna during her times in Justice League Unlimited and she became my main in the first Injustice game. I do love the detail of how it ended, Zatanna winning by utilizing the two most iconic magic tricks in any magician's arsenal, defeating Scarlet Witch with a disappearing act and sawing the lady in half.

I have to say that this was one of my favourite Death Battles, both as a whole and with the fight itself. It also made me REALLY curious about the Zatanna comics and want to go look at getting into those.

Looking at some of Zatanna's feats. Also she technically doesn't need to speak backwards to use magic, she's used magic without speaking multiple times, but back to her feats. Like when she defeated Zorr, a time tailor who could control reality and fought the spectre. Their fight was bizzare, with them growing bigger than planets and throwing each other through realities and messing with time. Or when she and other magic users powered up the spectre to match the anti monitor after he had destroyed the multiverse and was becoming an aspect of the presence. Or the when she made up 1/3 the power necessary to freeze time throughout the multiverse. Or when she held off Pralaya, the feminine side of the great evil beast and non existence itself, after Pralaya had destroyed all of creation. And that was from a mental projection of her and constantine she made after she had been erased from existence. It was stated by nightmare nurse that her magical potential was so great that she rarely uses even a fraction of her full power to preserve her normality. She's been stated to be one of the most powerful sorcerers in all dimensions and even the quintessance, a group of 5 cosmic beings that oversee the multiverse, count her as a powerful future ally. Zatanna doesn't often get big flashy displays of power but this is mostly because, as stated by her, when you deal with magic it can be hard to maintain your sense of normality. This is why she holds back a lot of her power. But the very fact that she was able to overcome the upside down man, while in his own magical dimension, is incredibly impressive. The upside down man is the shadow of Hecate, the first being of magic to form from the godsphere during the beginning of everything. Hecate was the most powerful of the gods, they all feared her power. When she looked upon the upside down man she created a barrier between the positive multiverse and trapped him in the dark multiverse. Hecate and the upside down man are practically magic itself and Dr Fate mentioned that the upside down man's magic was potent because it drew directly from the source, aka God basically. This is definitely an outervsal feat, one of a few she's done. When she had chaos magic she actually ripped apart of the comic book panel and destroyed it. This was technically an amp since she was given it by mordru. I didn't even get started about her dating constaine which gives some play if you know him. Plus she has fought and defeated mister mxyzptlk.

The Death Battle itself showed that she didn't need to speak for her spells as seen when she created copies of Superman and Wonder Woman and when she grew until she became bigger than universes.

Honestly I am shocked Scarlet Witch didn't win. I knew Scarlet could do pretty much anything she set her mind to but I had no idea Zatanna could to a greater extent. Good on her.

Fun fact: the House of M storyline was created for the sole purpose of getting rid of most of the mutant population. The head writer thought there were too many mutants to reasonably keep up with, so he made a way to get rid of all but the popular mutants.

Most people in the community do get fed up of marvel vs dc, especially after the 4 we got In s7. But in s8 they did 2, and in s9 they do 2 so hopefully they maintain 2 per year. Ant man vs atom and Mysterio vs scarecrow are 2 I can see next year maybe.

Mysterio vs Scarecrow is an odd one. Scarecrow has used illusions but it's not really his main thing and similarly Mysterio is not particularly focused on fear. I know he's not a popular character but if I was gonna match up Mysterio with a DC character it'd be Abra Kadabra.

I am really glad that you didn't side with Scarlet Witch cause yeah, I ended up getting a loss on this one since I completely underestimated Zatanna and this gave me my first loss since Hulk lost to Broly but on the bright side, I did get a flawless victory with Season 8, so I am not too bummed that I earned a loss after Hulk VS Broly and that's what matters right? Next time with Tanjiro and Jonathan Joestar, now much like Jinx and Scarlet Witch, Tanjiro is the third character that was teased at the end of Saitama VS Popeye and with Tanjiro, I had a feeling that he was fighting the First Jojo since well, he's the OG as the whole series started with him and his descendants all carried on Jonathan's nickname of Jojo. But yeah, see ya next Saturday for the battle between wholesome monster slayers and I guess before that, we gotta get Sauron VS Lich King out of the way first since that is coming up really soon.

One other thought of this whole battle is the mental side of it: Zatana played Scarlet Witch perfectly, had her getting angrier and angrier and in a less collected state of mind. While Zatana wasn't phased much by pretty much anything Scarlet Witch did, she just allowed Scarlet Witch's emotions take over and "blind" her.

I'm not sure about there conclusion, it seams to me that if they realy fought it would be a draw each time. This however is not how death battle works and because of the madness that comes with Wanda's max I believe Zatana would defeat her more often if you ran the fight a mililjard times that Faith would from Stefan Strange.
