the problem i have is the eagles are in the playoffs.. trying to get saquon the record against a team like the giants who are down and out is the equivalent of shooting a 3pointer with 4seconds in the game when you are up 20 to try to get a double double. I try not to look at games played but I do consider the run first vs. pass first eras as well as number of carries. Dickerson had 379 carries. OJ needed 332. Saquon, at 345, is second to OJ due to needing more carries to get to the same number. It's all relative and meaningless. If Saquon were to get it, people would question it due to the number of games played just like people question Dickerson's record for the same reason. I wonder how many yards OJ would have today if defenses had to account for both the run and the pass. If the projections were to hold, he'd have over 2400 yards. If defenses were forced to respect the pass, he could have well over 2500 yards. That's insane.

I somewhat disagree....those Running backs on the eagles roster in 2017 did not have even close to the impact that Saquon had on this eagles offense. That team was running back by committee with Clement, Blount and Ajayi. Also Saquon rushed for over 2000 yards. If the locker room wants to play so badly to the point of becoming a problem in the playoffs, then I would let them play. Otherwise, it's just too risky because it's not just Saquon, it's him and the entire starting OL. People are assuming how Saquon would feel if they don't go for the record and end up not winning the SB.. but what if they GO for the record and Lane Johnson tears his ACL. How would Saquon feel? It's one thing to play a football game for a team goal but for everybody to play just for one guy... I can only imagine the pressure it puts on that one guy. Not exactly the same. First, breaking 2105 yards in the first place would be impressive. Running 90 meters in 10 seconds is something highschoolers can do. Second, Saquon had less carries. So Dickerson had the benefit of more carries while Saquon had the benefit of more rest. This is like judging two players dunking while one person is taller and the other one has special shoes.
