26:27 The reason Iosefka’s blood vial looks yellow is most likely a lack of iron. Iron transports oxygen through the blood alongside red blood cells, so when it has an extreme lack of iron, it literally turns a yellow, darkish-gold color. Why Iosefka lacks iron, I have no idea.

It's already kinda a given that it's menstrual blood, so her being a doctor and knowing how the healing kinda works probably changed it from the crude from everyone gets, to a more refined form.

Came back to this vid a bit later, just to rewatch and this made me remember why I kinda stopped watching. While Max's enthusiasm is great and he really loves the game, he sucks at basic reading comprehension/vocabulary and jumps to weird conclusions much too quickly. Like the bit about the clothes, right at the start, where he just completely ignored, that it's literally just normal-ass clothes the guy was wearing prior to his Yharnam visit, instead of special "new hunter" clothes he gets in "the nightmare", where the character hasn't even been to yet. I guess I'll keep watching just to satiate my BB cravings and ignore all the frequent bits he'll be wrong about.

Definitely my favorite game this console generation. Me and my two buddies claiming our stomping grounds in Yharnam and beyond. It was one of the best gaming experiences I've had in co-op. Then we moved on to Dark Souls 3 and had an incredible adventure there aswell. I love Fromsoftware and they are one of the few gaming companies that I trust. Quality games and dlc, and not a single loot box or microtransaction in sight.

I ALWAYS start the game with the cane, then I grab the saw spear. Use both of those until I get the Moonlight Greatsword. Myeah, I usually go SKL/ARC. Not only for MGS but for auger ebrietas, my fav hunter tool. As well as being able to play as cauliflower later on…

So just a thought. At the beginning of the game where you enter the cinematic of the beast coming out of the pool of blood (maybe almost as if it were born from it). The way it approaches you seems like it is trying to invite you - notice the beast’s hands as it reaches over to you - then the messengers come in and “save” you from it. What if this scene represents the birth of a beast, or at least the potential birth of a beast since the transfused blood is a part of the reasons why people turn into beasts. Since many hunters have lost themselves into bloodlust, maybe the beast in this scene is trying to beckon you to submit to that desire. However, the messengers from the dream pull you away from that desire and you are safe from becoming a beast for now.

Little tip for making those dualshock4 controllers last longer: turn off rumble You can also dim the LEDs, most people know this, apparantly you can get them modded and have the led permanently deactivated, and gets an almost 50% battery time extension.

Rom was created by the school when trying to contact the old ones. @3:41:30 I believe if you refuse to give her the pendant you can convince her to join you at Oedon Chapel. Though she will perish on the way. Her remains are where the giant pig is in the sewer where the pig ate her. You get her bloodied ribbon there. One of the more tragic quest lines imo. Plus if you keep the pendant you can crush it to gain a sweet upgrade for your weapon.

A cheap and fairly easy tip for making specific places (knees, cuffs, folds, edges, etc.) on costumes dirty is to use a cheap paintbrush or makeup brush and cocoa powder. You can also use your hands, but you'll have much finer control with the brushes.

I had just gotten done watching your full Dark Souls run and was super bummed when I realized you didn't have the same for Dark Souls 2, 3 or Bloodborne. Bloodborne and Demon's Souls are the only games in the series I haven't played, much less done 100% like the 3 souls games, as I'm working on getting a cheap ps4 to do so, but I loved watching your playthrough of Dark Souls, and am looking forward to watching all of this one. Some details that I don't see a lot of people talk about: The altar in the Grand Cathedral prominently displays a headless, winged woman(?) dressed in robes who's pouring something out of an urn down upon the altar and the worshipping effigies below. The description of the Caryll Rune "Moon" states that "The Great Ones that inhabit the nightmare are sympathetic in spirit, and often answer when called upon." Notably, two of the game's three "Moon" Runes can be found in Mergo's Loft. If you speak with the Fishing Hamlet Priest while you've got the Milkweed Rune equipped, he says: "Curse here, curse there. A curse for he, and she, why care. A bottomless curse, a bottomless sea, source of all greatness, all things that be. Listen for the baneful chants. Weep with them, as one in trance. And weep with us, oh, weep with us... Listen for the baneful chants. A call to the bloodless, wherever they be. A call to the bloodless, wherever they be. Fix your ears, to hear our call." The description of the Cursed and Defiled Chalice states that "Curses are caused by inciting the anger of the Great Ones," the greatest curse in Bloodborne being the Hunter's Nightmare... Mergo's Wet Nurse is a seemingly headless (or perhaps you might say "formless") winged woman(?) dressed in robes. Around her neck she carries an amulet that looks very much like the Caryll Rune "Communion," a Rune that allows you to carry more Quicksilver Bullets, making it a counterpart to the Caryll Rune "Formless Oedon," which increases the number of Bloodvials you can carry. "Communion" and "Formless Oedon" are associated with the Tarot cards "The High Priestess" and "The Hierophant" respectively. The former, when Upright, represents intuition, sacred knowledge, divine feminine and the subconscious mind, and, when Reversed, represents secrets, disconnected from intuition, withdrawal and silence. Meanwhile, the latter, when Upright, represents spiritual wisdom, religious beliefs, conformity, tradition and institutions, and, when Reversed, represents personal beliefs, freedom and challenging the status quo. Unlike almost all other enemies in the game, Mergo's Wet Nurse does notably not bleed when she's struck, instead giving off black, dusty clouds of smoke; this could concievably make her "the bloodless" that the Fishing Hamlet Priest refers to... Given that the Wet Nurse is the attendant of a God/Great One, she's quite obviously, with her winged appearance, what passes for an "Angel" in Bloodborne, and given that Mergo is stongly implied to be the offspring produced of the liasion between Formless Oedon and Queen Yharnam, it's possible that the Wet Nurse is to Oedon what the Lesser Amygdalas are to Amygdala, or that she is Oedon him(?)self.

I know this is an old video but I wanted to say thanks. This video has helped me greatly to understand small pieces of the storyline, what to do in the game, and to be able to actually stand a chance against enemies. I got this game nearly a year ago as a Christmas gift but I had been putting it off because it's a hard and grueling game like all FromSoft games. I'm hooked now after learning more about the lore and learning tricks to the combat so thanks Max. Without this video I'd probably still be putting off playing this gem of a game

@16:00 I really wish that was the case. It kind of boils down to a currency to summon and buy things from the Messengers. There are mobs later on that drain insight and at one point I dropped to 0, but the doll was still alive. I was kind of disappointed. I hope, if Bloodborne 2 becomes a thing, that insight actually does govern how you see the world. Would be a really cool mechanic.

Thery're back! While all your content is good these were by far my favorite videos. I enjoyed them when I first watched them, and I know I will enjoy them this time around as well. Bloodborne was one of my favorite games as well. Even without reading every bit of "lore" in the game, it somehow accomplished a story through imagery... through the changes in the environment, and even the changes in yourself , such as the negative effect of knowing too much (madman's knowledge), on your sanity (reduction in your resistance to frenzy)... and I don't think it will be topped for some time.
