I love darkness on the edge of town it may be my favorite

It's a classic for sure. Sometimes that early Bruce just gets a tad bit to "busy" for me lol.

Always great and varied stuff--never boring selections from Funkadelic to Belle & Sebastian.
@mrhoffameАй бұрын
Thanks my friend! It's always so weird because I never think/get the feeling that my musical taste is diverse or anything until someone mentions it LOL.

Love that movie some kind of wonderful, but mainly for Mary Stuart Masterson , she blew me away in that film :)

Such a classic for sure. Although I'm pretty much in love with EVERY 80s movie about a teenage boy trying to get the girl in high school LOL

Another killer show. Lots of 80’s. I like your OG stickers. Where do you get those. You inspired me to build my record bin to flip records in my room. Take care. Art
@mrhoffameАй бұрын
Thanks my friend. I truly do love the front facing bins. Just seems to make the collection so much more accessible. I get thos OG stickers off ebay. There are tons of seller on ebay that sell those mailing labelings, pricing lable, security labels, etc. Most of them have a "Put Your Text Here" option so I just told them what I wanted. lol I got stickers for OGs as well as Gold Stamp Promo. I'm gonna get some more for White Label Promos as well as Sealed album . Why not, it's fun!! LOL

Thanks brotha! Yeah, I've been doing good. Just so much family crap over the past month or so. Hopefully things will be back to normal soon. I keep my spirits up by looking at the awesome stuff you guys are always chatting about \m/ :)

Love what you’ve been spinning but it seems like Boy George is staring at me from behind you. Lol! RUSH!!!! I still need to listen to some of Eddie Money’s solo albums in full. Sly in the house!
@mrhoffameАй бұрын
Ha ha! Well you know CP, a handsome guy like you? How could Boy George resist lol!! Yeah, the Money Man is a true rocker for sure. Definitely check out more of his stuff brotha!

Brandon, a Black Box 12" single? I didn't know you had 12" singles?!? Can you show your 12" singles in a future video? You really brought the jams in this video, as always.
@mrhoffameАй бұрын
Thanks my friend! Yeah, 12" singles are extremely rare in my collection. I went through a purge of them about 8 or 9 years ago and really only kept about 10 so there are not many in my collection to even show lol.

Dean Wareham and Britta Phillips are in the Band Luna and Dean Wareham was originally the lead man of Galaxy 500. Both bands are/were awesome! BTW Brandon, I could help but notice Further/Deeper by The Church in the background of the video. That would be my favorite band!!!

That OG pharcyde is crazy - the song Drop produced by J Dilla is one of the coolest beats ever

Hope you find that old school copy of 7th Son Of A 7th Son-Iron Maiden. That's my favorite Iron Maiden album.

I'm sure I'll stumble across one soon lol. I have an reissue, but really want an OG copy back as well \m/

I need to pickup some Graham Central Station. I've been enjoying the funk lately; Roy Ayers, Betty Davis, etc. The Eddie Money greatest hits is pure gold. I was given a nice clean copy of that Sly album from my aunt; OG and darn near NM. No Buddy in my collection - I need to fix that. Question: What is your Hip Hop or rap grail want right now? Great spins. Since being on vacation I'm just streaming and I'm going through turntable withdrawals - need to spin soon. Peace!
@mrhoffameАй бұрын
Thanks my friend. Yeah, if you don't have any Graham Central Station you will find it an awesome addition to the funk collection. Love me some Betty Davis. Talk about a badass chic ahead of her time. She was serious!!!! Hip Hop Grail? Hmm that is a good question. I would say first on my list is Fu-Schnickens -FU Don't Take It Personal is high on my list along with Marley Marl- In Control Vol 1. Kriss Kross- Totally Krossed Out. Maybe Beat Street Vol 2 too. Would love to find clean copies of those. I really what that Fu-schnickens though lol.

nice selections! I'm guessing that Permanent Waves is an original Canada pressing??? the cover has newspaper with the DEWEI DEFEATS TRUMAN headline. I don't see those often, once in the wild! I think all US pressings do not feature the headline.

nice video brandon! interested how you work in all these records to listen to! i work from home some and i find that helps while i work!
@mrhoffameАй бұрын
Thanks my friend. Yeah, I work from home a few days week and spin stuff, but I even had a turntable set up in my office so I spin records there too. Working at the shop of course you are there are 7 hours so plenty of time to spin there too. Just kind of adds up I guess lol.

If you like the 'Mistress America' soundtrack then you should try M83 's album Saturday = Youth ( you probably already have it!!) very 80's. Even the cover looks like a John Hughes movie poster. Have a great day, dude!!

Great minds and great ears my friend! I love that album. Matter of fact it is already sitting in my what's been spinning video for next time bc I spun it just a couple of days ago LOL. Love that track Kim and Jessie.
