Changing the head light on a French car is a simple 400 step process... I didn't see that coming. If a French driver is required by law to carry extra bulbs, I can only assume that he is also required to carry a yellow vest in case a protest against the "extra bulb" law breaks out.

Not just a yellow vest but also a red warning triangle and a pair of 'in date' breath test devices. One of the problems with small, modern and relatively powerful cars is that to make everything fit means that to do anything, the engine has to come out. The Renault is a shade easier than a FIAT, but only a shade. I cannot complain too much, I have, without a problem, driven this car for a lot more miles than my first Cortina or Morris Minor and it had more miles on it when I got it than anything I have owned before.

Ah...now as you may have seen, I have some recent experience of this issue on my Alfa. I've had four Alfas on the trot, so one necessarily has to learn something of auto electrics. On the Alfa I fixed the switch, but thanks to the wonders of Vehicle Dynamics Control (anti skid to you and me) the car was unhappy about being repaired by a man without a laptop..

I have a rare Honda Legend, and it's literally a 10 minute job from start to finish. I swear by Japanese engineering, and i can't understand why anyone would want Renault car's ? They have a poor reputation generally. If it's law to carry bulbs, imagine sodding around like that on a cold wet night ! Er, no thanks !😂

@@doveronefoxtrot4417 In this part of the world, Renault and Citroen and of course Dacia are the common motors. The garages all understand them and carry spares, new and second hand, for them. The Kangoo is also badge engineered for other markets. This one is the highest mileage car I have ever owned.
