The painting changed so much in your process. Fun to watch but stressful too. You covered some cool things. Looks like a pier to a body of water.

Hey Susan! 😂😂😂Yeah, I bounced around for sure. There are a few places during the painting that I loved and have every intention of creating paintings based on them. I came away with many ideas for future paintings.

soooo nice these many layers. one needs the gut to always overpaint even parts one likes and just go on. it ends out sooo rich and deep. very nice. that's exactly my lesson! ... 🙂

Chris, This video had me yelping as though watching an action film - the axe murder was destroying the village! What a ride, seeing you build a composition, several times, take it through heaven and hell and eureka, the beautiful dove flies out of the hat! Great tutorial on fearless techniques - thanks again.

I was enjoying watching your process, then you put the bits of red into it and I thought wow! Then you used charcoal (think) to go around some of the shapes and make new ones and I thought wow again! Then you obliterated and I thought oh no! Then you put the hot pink in nice, and scraped back to show the layer below I thought great ok. I like it, but my favourite was left back at the charcoal outlines it had a strong industrial feel to it. The final piece although it was still industrial and still strong it just felt lonely. Cheers!

Funny... it goes through so many types of abstract. I think my favourite moment was around 2'45 to about 3'15... ish. There was something so spontaneous about that zone😊. As always, Chris, very inspiring. Back to my mud-making!😅

@chrisloudart after 4 years of being self-taught, im still trying to figure out my style. I've tried masking over previously painted work, and I think I like this technique more than the others. I just have to master using complimentary colors.

What's your favorite size of canvas to use? Do you find yourself when you start with squares and rectangles?And sharp edges, you keep it that way in the painting.Or do you ever do circles and squares together?Just wondering, you do a great job.And I love watching your videos.Thank you
@chrisloudart
@chrisloudart 8 ай бұрын
Hey Tami! Thank you very much for your kind words ❤️ My favorite right now is 36"x48", but for these videos I've lately been using smaller 8"x8", 10"x 10" and 8"x 10". The smaller ones are much more manageable for videos. How about you? I would say overall I don't combine circles and squares for no particular reason. That sounds like a challenge for me to include both in a few paintings.😊 I want to say I typically keep hard edges, but in a rough state. I'm sure if I really looked, I'd see a combination of both. What do you usually do?

My issue is, that if I get something I like, I'm not willing to cover it up. There's a tipping point that I don't go past. I think I might be missing what's on the other side of that.
@chrisloudart

I totally get that, Veronica! It can be hard to push past that comfort zone, but sometimes the most amazing discoveries happen when you do. And full disclosure, you will mess some up, so you have ok with taking those risks.
