What if the Bracken didn't kill you, but instead dragged you deep into the facility? I think that'd be pretty funny / scary too, seeing your team members getting dragged off, you either abandon them, or venture in to help them, and solo players have a chance at not dying immediately.

@@Korhi Well yeah, but you can say that about any other monster. If you had loot dragged with you into the depths, you also lose that if you teleport. You can get teleported out from coilheads, standing on mines, if you're lost. The game is all about monsters and working around them.

The guy that datamined the game said the shower does nothing and Bracken does have a room, but it's not the backrooms room. The room it selects is a room farthest from the exits where it will drag the bodies of the players it kills.

For the Ghost Girl: She can only ever haunt one person, and will attempt to kill them after revealing herself in different ways three times. To avoid dying, you can place a teleporter on the file cabinet, then remove the cabinet. Jump on the teleporter. She will attempt to kill you, but she'll fail because you're out of reach and dissappear. In my testing, I've found that she will choose a new random player to haunt, which may be you again, and rinse and repeat.

Another way to avoid her is to "grab" the red storage locker with B, then walk inside it (only the doors have hitboxes in this state), then jump and scroll your scrollwheel when you're at the highest point in your jump. This returns the locker's hitbox, letting you crouch ontop of it, out of reach of the girl.

One tactic to find exit easier is to leave a boombox near the door (though loot bug can probably steal it). I also heard that the ghost girl always spawns behind your back so if you stand with your back to the wall you should be safe, unless she is already close to you. The ghost girl will chose to attack player with lowest sanity. There is no way to recover sanity. Sanity gets lower quicker by seeing monsters, being alone in the dark, seeing dead team mates and by being paranoid - i.e. moving the camera around to watch behind your back too much. Taking the shower does not work.

So I have no idea how these numbers were acquired, however. For sanity and gaining/losing it. Being inside the facility building. Increases at a rate of 0.8 Being outside after sunset Increases at a rate of 0.5 Being outside before sunset Increases at a rate of 0.3 Being inside the ship Increases at a rate of 0.2 Being near other players Decreases at a rate of 3.0 Hearing other players on the walkie-talkie Decreases at a rate of 3.0 Single player apparently makes sanity decrease instead of increase when the player is outside.

So, for the shower thing, it's actually not a dumb mechanic and makes sense when you know how the girl works properly. It's sanity. There's a hidden sanity stat. Seeing a team mate die, getting critically injured and being alone all contribute to the "fear" that the girl uses. Player with the highest fear is the one that gets hunted. Showers, I think, reset the fear stat. Also, being the most paranoid player (which you get for having the highest total turn count) contributes a large amount to your fear level

I hope they add more room tiles. The carwalk gap jump tile is cool, but what if there were the "hallway" catwalks where it stopped like halfway in with out a rail because it collapsed. Or a large room with a gap in the middle with catwalks on either side without a way to cross. So you could see a bracken on the otherside but be safe because it can't cross over.

@Cyrus_III It's similar to that room. But I want it to be catwalks, and for the other side to be unaccessible from the side you're on to both you and monsters. So if you see something you can be like, "Holy shit it's a thumper. Thank God we're safe over here, " or you can look over at the other side and think, "How can I get over there?" The big room with the pit and the slide is cool, but it's not the same. I mostly want more transitionary rooms.

I tend to get most paranoid in my games, but I rarely ever crouch. So I don't think it's that. I move my camera a lot though, an ADHD habit, lol. I also spam scan a lot, so I do think it could be either of those, or even a combination of both.

Most paranoid likely has to do with the number of rooms you enter when inside. Or your total distance moved while inside. Player with least rooms entered or distance travelled is likely titled most paranoid. Just a theory obviously

Okay so I was looking at the wiki for the girl, and my theory is since the shower counts as 'solid walls'. The girl can't spawn 'within eyesight' which is one of the things she needs to do to haunt you. Since you're blocked by 'solid walls', she can't spawn, so goes to the next person.

The trick to keeping the zap gun active is to keep the current from the gun centered.

@@KiritoIZC sorry, but thats not what I asked. I know how it works, but its still bad. Stops you moving and consumes your focus on keeping the enemy stunned. Requires a team to be useful. "Auto" targeting cone that will happily zap a teammate before going on a fairly extreme cooldown, no lingering effect like a stun grenade hit for your skill at a minigame, and seems like a battery level built to only last a couple proper uses. It should not be worth that much, when its something that can very quickly be stolen away due to incompetence or shit luck.
