Riggs began the series as a suicidal burnout, totally isolated from everyone. He ended the series as a husband and father with two friends who were like brothers to him. Never give up gents. I don't care how bad it is right now; your Roger, Leo, and Lorna could be right around the corner.

@@justaman9724 I have gotten pretty bored of many superhero movies because most of them have very similar plots, formulas and narrative structures that it gets the point where if I have seen 2 or 3 of them, I pretty much have seen them all. You could make the same exact argument for buddy cop or action films like this, But the lack of cgi and the chemistry between the actors and characters is what really sells and solidifies these movies as classic over the post-2008 cookie cutter superhero flicks.

They did try to do the TV remake of Lethal Weapon and Damon Wayans cried through the first two seasons and got Crawford fired. After one more season with Stifler it got canceled.

I just finished watching all 4 movies back to back and it just seemed like everyone enjoyed making these flicks. What's really amazing is seeing the development of Riggs' character. He goes from being a broken man to having it all at the end. It's really inspiring

It's really a terrific series. I'm not the biggest fan of the fourth one, but it has its moments. The fact that they kept the core cast and director together across all four films says a lot. As you said, I think they had a great time making them and I'm glad they never made a fifth one that might have sullied this perfectly happy ending.

It was very touching to see Captain Murphy hand Leo an LAPD badge when he walked in the hospital. Leo has come a long way from being a targeted witness by the South African drug smugglers to being on the police force. Absolutely love it!! 😃😄

Perfect touch to have all the core cast in final shot and most were there from start! Kids and wife were played by the same people along with captain while Pesci, Russo and Rock were introduced in fil. 2, 3, and 4 respectively

Since Richard Donner passed away there won’t be a fifth Lethal Weapon, And considering how this ends with the Riggs and the Murtaughs all together, I am perfectly fine with that. Edit: Well it sounds like Mel Gibson wants to make Lethal Weapon 5, But I still don’t think he should. LW4 had a strong enough ending as it was.

She had such a contentious relationship with Riggs, I can't imagine her feeling inclined to visit them at the hospital, or feeling welcome doing so. And she never had much interaction with Murtaugh, so she's got no reason to visit his daughter, either.

I'm hoping Lethal Weapon 5 has the kids as the main buddy cop roles. While, Riggs is Law Enforcement/Karate instructor & Murtaugh is either Chief of Police/Captain of the station.

Murtagh would probably be a Police Consultant, because at this point he would be older. Lorna would be more likely to end up as Captain, but somehow the shenanigans that Riggs ( now head Karate/Defense Instructor) and Murtagh (Police Consultant/Advisor) and Leo (Senior PI) would get in the way and she would need her son and possible future daughter ln Law Enforcement to straighten everything out along with assistance from Captain Lee Butters /Biscuits, etc.. And Murtagh's wife would be authoring a series of Police Romance/Mystery novels based on all the hijinks! OR they could just leave the franchise end as it did...Perfectly!

this is the perfect ending to the film everyone yelling "we're family" then you go to the credits with pictures of all 4 films and the last picture you see is a picture of the entire cast with Gibson & Glover in the center and director Donner between them both and then book closes on them. so that is why i am strongly against the 5th film plus the death of Donner and Mary Ellen Trainor (police psychologist stephanie woods) so two big absences and why put a perfect ending to franchise in the middle of the franchise
