Maybe because i did it first i have more of a bias towards iorveth being the better choice of the two, but roche's path is also really good. If you side with Iorveth you find out that Roche failed all his missions without Geralt. They were never friends just companions.

Still find it amazing every time I see it. I really liked Foltest, so seeing him killed really motivated me to track down his killer, but the more I played and the closer I got to catching Letho the more I began to really like and respect Letho. By the end I couldn't kill my former brother in arms. I just didn't hate him anymore even though I still very much wish it hadn't played out so tragically. Being able to part in peace in the end is something I really never saw coming, and I can honestly say that I've never played any other game that left me with such a bittersweet and profound feeling at the end of it all.

I keep noticing how underbaked PC version is... I played Assassins of Kings on Xbox 360 and the level of detail was much higher there. In this particular scene, a couple of candles on Letho's staff were lit, producing ribbons of smoke, as any other candle in the game, and were extinguished when he threw staff on the ground...

In PC version landscape already has a hellish hew it is supposed to gain only after the curse is unleashed... So when a sunny day suddenly turns dark and red, the effect was much more dramatic... And the phrase of Yarpen "The sun's gone dark!" makes sense...

One mistake is there I think and I don't remember if it's questioned in the game: how can you cut someone's throat with a two handed sword which is free of any blood? How can Geralt seen to be guilty with those facts?

Well, in fact Roche didn't believe any of that. And it's not that there was something like due process. The temerian barons, expecially Kimbolt, didn't really care about Foltest and who was the murderer, they just wanted to take the throne and increase their powers. I suspect Geralt was also convenient as guilty so that they could use his connection to Triss in order to remove her from the royal court.

And to this day, I am still conflicted of Our Based Viper boi. On one hand, he gutted Foltest, the north's best Shot against Nilfgaard and who is honestly a great ruler(Compared to Radovid, the flaccid phallus sucker that he is) but Letho still feeds you Intel on the wild Hunt, on Eredin and his band of Friends.

You can see it as Letho not wanting to go against Geralt, he kiIIed Foltest because they promised him to rebuilt the school of the viper. Witchers like Vampires shouldn't kiII each other, Geralt and Letho saved each others life and Letho helped Yennefer when Geralt had Amnesia. In my opinion Letho is a friend, not foe.
