"Every year, thousands of patients die because an organ could not be found in time to save their life. The organ crisis does not only lead to patient deaths; it has also fueled a global illegal organ market with great ethical, legal and medical risks for both patients and donors.
The prohibition of organ trade has increased the value and profitability of organs, and has driven the trade underground, leading to high victimization rates. Patients’ deaths and black market abuses can be prevented if we legalize the trade in organs, through a government-controlled regulated organ market.
In this talk, Let’s allow a fair trade in kidneys, Frederike argues that fair trade in organs is achievable, by taking one step beyond and changing our ideas and beliefs about the organ trade. " "Frederike Ambagtsheer is the initiator and coordinator of the HOTT project. She studied Criminology and Public International Law and finished her PhD on organ trade cum laude in 2017.
Until 2014 she was the coordinator of the European Platform on Ethical, Legal and Psychosocial aspects of Transplantation (ELPAT). In addition, she has worked for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in the department of human trafficking for organ removal.
From September 2017 until February 2018, she will continue her research as a visiting scholar at the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Northeastern University in Boston (USA).

You are very right, because at the end what matters is life, no matter the process as long as life is saved
