Seems like you could have reduced a bit of weight on that whole rig with a few changes here and there. I understand that you want the rig to be as modular as possible. But loosing one of those base slide plates and just going with the SmallRig "U plate" I thing you called it, and attaching that directly to the small rig cage, you could loose some weight and over all height of the rig. I also have a R7 with the Black Mamba cage, SR top handle, the SR side grip (non-wooden one as I wanted it as light as I could make it), Rode Video Mic NTG and the Osee small monitor. I already had a rail system for a previous camera, so if I want to use that, I attach the slide plate onto the cage and then slide the caged camera rig onto the rail rig. But if I'm just using a small tripod, I use the built in ARCA SWISS adapter on the bottom of the Black Mamba cage and connect it directly to the tripod that way with no other parts needed. Then the camera rig can be popped off to go hand held or quickly disassembled to adapt onto a gimble. Building rigs is always fun and with all the cheese plates and 1/4 20 threaded holes we can mount all sorts of things onto our cameras, but that raises the question: Just because we can, should we? What used to be a very light weight camera has now become a small monster. Fun video man!

please, one doubt. The "Small rig camera rods" are 8'' ou 12'' ??? you said 12'' but printscreen shows 8''.

Amazing setup! What is your experience with the R7 when shooting video without a gimbal? My experience with my R7 is that the IBIS is very poor if you don't also have a canon lens with great lens stabilisation. The video wobble is unbearable. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

You need to give us the links to the product using. Looking for the back plate for the battery unit is connected to.

What does adding the Sony batteries do for you? The R7 doesn't charge while being used, and doesn't accept an external power source. Correct me if I'm wrong, and I hope I am, but I've tried a tonne of combos for longer recording and nothing works except straight battery.

Seems you weren't using an adequate power source then. I use my R7 connected to the Sony NPF battery, connected to a battery plate and plugged into the Type C Port. I use his especially when doing Livestreams

@@RhajeemCrawford I have a Jackery Power supply that is more than enough, plus the proper PD cables. No luck.

The monitor he has linked doesn't support 4k 60, which I assume many of us are shooting on the R7. Does anyone know what that means exactly? Will it still work for stuff like focus peaking?

i belive it just mean that the video on the monitor cannot be more than 4k 60p. Of course you can have the foxus peeking
