This is a top three band for me right now. I discovered them just earlier this year and LOVE them. I've been wanting to send a song of their to you but keep missing your streams. My favorite song is Passenger, followed by Woolgather, and thirdly O Resolution!. The singer, Evan Berry, is just amazing, as is their musical composition in general. He does both clean and harsh vocals btw

I remember an album, not only Cynic Focus, there is also that EP from Rhapsody The Cold Embrace of Fear nothing humanly created beats the Act III: The Ancient Fires of Har-Kuun, but it was a progressive album it was better too, also Akroasis.

I'm not super into the prog scene as I used to but when this album came out it was a big ripper in the scene. I'll have to give it another listen. In the meantime, I'm surprised you haven't checked out Gorguts yet! You should really give them a listen, anything from their groundbreaking 1998 masterpiece Obscura. It's the most disgusting, dissonant and off-putting wall of sound ever made.😊

Oh hells to the YES Wilderun! Absolutely phenomenal band, they picked up where Opeth left off when the latter moved from prog death into classic prog rock. Both this album and their latest Epigone are absolute bangers from start to finish! The Tyranny of Imagination from this album is one of the best progressive death metal tracks out there, period. Thanks for featuring them Geebz!

this album came out of leftfield for me, never heard of the band before but it easily was top3 the year it came out, a bit of opeth worship but later they do go their own way, and the whole album is just superb, their newest album didn't land for me unfortunately

Try giving epigone another shot. It takes more listens to get into than veil of imagination, but it’s also amazing. If it’s just not for you, then there’s also nothing wrong with that
