Great video Sam. I finally closed on my new Tennessee property. I have 145 acres in God’s Country‼I have been scratching holes in the brush trying to find the perfect shop site. I really need your 313😎. The people in Scott County are some of the nicest people on the earth. My neighbors are quickly turning into lifelong friends. I’ve learned so much watching your videos, I’m going to book an excavator to rent for a month this winter when the leave are off the trees so I can see more than 2 feet.

Hey that is great news and that sounds like a nice piece of land. Tennessee folks are generally good people. 😀 You will have a lot of fun cleaning up with that excavator. Thanks and God Bless, Sam

I enjoyed your walk through on the 313's service. Being someone whose one day mechanical ability can be expended properly on tying just one boot, you'd make a great instructor on such doings. That skill also comes in handy in your Bible messages.

Watch and learn, and learn a few things we did - thanks for a reminder that just like the Cat 313 ( a workhorse needs rest) , we also need periodic "spiritual maintenance." "But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded." 2Chronicles 15:7 (NIV) May the Lord bless you and your viewers, Sam, and keep you safe as we begin a new week. Until next time, Mike&Pat

Making use of the wet start ! The oil testing service is a great idea, have seen this system used for commercial vehicles, too. You can't see inside the mechanical parts, so this is the next best option to keep an eye on the insides ! 🧐🤓

That was a 12oz Dr Pepper bottle (I know because I drink Dr Pepper in that size bottle) - you just gave an excellent sales pitch for CAT. Maybe they'll send you a new right rear panel for your machine - LOL.
@tristardiggin3 ай бұрын
Yup, I noticed that about the bottle a few minutes later.🤣 I like that size bottle too, it’s just enough. That is a good idea, CAT should send me a new panel. Especially when it was a defective part that caused it to swing open on its own…

Hey Sam, next time you are trying to get leverage on an Allen wrench, use a box end wrench and slide the closed end over the wrench (in line with the wrench). Use a bigger one like 3/4"...works great. I welded nuts to the plugs on my final drives to make removing them easier

Yup, that would work great. Also welding the nuts on there is a good idea too…

About 2 yrs ago, I was considering buying another excavator. I looked at several different brands, including Cat. I like most things about the Cat 304, except the manual bucket exchange system and the price. All the machines I looked at were the same size class and the same options. The Cat 304 was $91k. The next highest was $78k. That's a huge difference, but I think you are paying for a better parts and service network. Nobody else's service was even close in my area. I ended up not buying an excavator because I had to buy a truck instead. I would still consider buying a Cat when I can afford it. They are nice machines.
@tristardiggin3 ай бұрын
Yes, they are a bit pricey for sure. I do like them pretty good though. I wish 1000 times I had ordered it with the hydraulic quick connect. Just didn’t realize how much I would have used it… Thanks

You make it look relatively easy,.... you still have to know what you are doing 🤓 Oil testing is good idea, you can't see inside the machine, so this brings the inside to you !! With longer service intervals, this is popular on this side of the pond..... for plant and trucks 👍
