I'm going to try to clarify things for some people that seem to have questions. First off, he is playing the 3DS Virtual Console edition of the game. These glitches are from the original versions and came with the VC editions because all they really did was create an official internal emulator and copy the files from the original games, making them digital. The file that you download from the e-shop and use is just a package of the two. No modifications were made to the games, with any changes being handled by the emulator portion and done so the games will be plahable on the 3DS (namely configuring the emulator to register the 3DS buttons as the gameboy's buttons). As such, these glitches will remain forever and never be patched out, there's no point. Secondly, these glitches do work in Pokemon Yellow, however with very slight differences (namely the fact that what you get for which values is different, meaning MIDPKKXY will give different Pokemon). Other changes between the Red/Blue version and the Yellow version I'm not sure of, but you can find them on KZbin (though commonly done on the originals or on a computer via rom and emulator), my personal favourite being Let's Glitch Pokemon Yellow by Scykoh (I think I got that right). Moving on, the video's title may be a little misleading, as he is not playing Pokemon Sun or Moon, however he is doing this as setup for when Pokemon Bank updates to connect to Sun and Moon, as has been confirmed to allow you to send Pokemon from the VC versions of R/B/Y to Sun and Moon. As Pokemon like this are not possible in newer games, it may end up causing glitches in Sun and Moon as well, assuming Pokemon Bank doesn't fix or prevent things. And that's where any fixes will occur, in Pokemon Bank, and odds are they'd implement such fixes indirectly whether people made videos or not, as it would be as simple as having the transfer confirm valid moves, origins (met __________ at lv __, or had a fateful encounter), and other data . Such fixes will either fully prevent Pokemon above level 100, with moves they shouldn't learn, or the various Missingnos, or fix them somehow (namely setting them back to level 100 or exchanging Missingno with whatever Pokemon took the value Missingno had). And we know it already does some of this, as it already prevents Mythical Pokemon that don't have the proper encounter status (had a fateful encounter), and Pokemon with moves they shouldn't know (which I believe used to prevent the transfer of the event Jirachis that had Draco Meteor), and we know some fixes will have to occur anyways (since gen 1, stats have changed, shinies were added, natures were added, abilities were added, etc.. Trading ahead to gen 2 already had to fix things, but even more changes made was part of the reason transferring to gen 3 wasn't made possible. I believe the change in how things are transferred is part of why they are allowing you to bring gen 1 up to gen 7 when they didn't create fixes before). As for how the games will handle glitches and more info on these glitches, they'll guaranteed prevent transfers of Pokemon over level 100, likely forcing them down to level 100 during the transfer if not fully preventing things, though level 0 Pokemon will likely be fully prevented. Glitch Pokemon like Missingno will likely also be prevented, but may end up with the same result as sending them to gen 2 did, giving you whatever Pokemon took that data value since. Also, this style of glitch can be done in slightly different ways to get other Pokemon with other levels and stats and such. These other methods are required for Pokemon Yellow and some may only be possible in that game, but allow for things like level 100 Pokemon before fighting Brock. As for levels beyond level 100, this is possible because of the 255 limit that also affects stats, normally prevented by removing EXP values for level 100s to prevent levelling up. However, using these glitches or hacks, you can get them more powerful. One thing to note is that while gaining EXP at s level beyond 100 brings you to 100, giving Rare Candies won't, allowing you to get Pokemon up to level 254. Giving them another at that level brings them down to level 0, and in every instance I've seen, that also resets their moves to Pound, Pound, Pound, and Pound (yes, actually appearing multiple times), though I don't know if that's always the case. Also, I'm not sure if this is possible with glitches, but I remember hacking the original versions made it possible to get Pokemon with more current HP than their max. Taking damage worked normally, as did using a Potion, but using a Pokemon Centre brought them down to their max again (Nurse Joy, I'm pretty sure if their health goes down, you're doing something wrong... No wonder she keeps saying she hopes to see me again... Someone should really fire that sadist...). If this is also possible with glitches, I wonder what trying to transfer Pokemon like that up to gen 7 would do...

I figured, it was an easy fix they had already implemented to prevent hacked Pokémon before. It would have been stupid of them not to, as people could get some really broken Pokémon otherwise. Still, would have been interesting to see how SuMo handled Missingno

My theory on the glitch pokemon is that if you transfer it, it will work like a reverse Johto Guard Glitch and the glitch pokemon would turn into a Johto pokemon depending on it's index number.

few months late, but use the missing no glitch to get infinite masterballs before going mewtwo hunting, and anything over level 100 can't transfer to the pokebank, use it in battle first to knock it's level back to 100

Missingno. Is just hex values that havent been completely filled in yet so basically scrapped ideas and affect game data. Transferring these will just turn it into the pokemon assigned to that hex value. This means that it will be a legit pokemon in pokemon gold and silver. And even if you tried transferring it, pokemon bank would see that it has impossible stats like bird type moves and two of the same moves. Even if you did get it through, because the hex that it had occupied didn't have complete data but the one in sun and moon has data filled for that hex value so it would turn into another pokemon

Why don't you try using the Trainer Fly/ Special Stat Ditto-Glitch to get some of the different versions of Missingno since most of the Missingno are simply placeholder for Gen 2 Pokémon it would be interesting to see what happens to these if they turn into the Gen 2 Pokémon they are supposed to represent, turn into Dittos or get outright rejected and blocked by Pokébank

Glitch Pokemon are just garbled hex data. In generation 2, most of them have been assigned already. We're 7 generations in, they've all been assigned. The whole premise of getting glitch Pokemon into sun and moon doesn't make sense to try. However, I'm interested, did pokebank allow overleved Pokemon through for a while?

asd asdas They can cause some other glitches such as ruining the look of the hall of fame, flipping sprites, etc., but the deletion or corruption of save data was typically caused by other things, namely internal batteries dying causing the game to lose its internal memory, or just random corruptions that occured by the same kind of glitchiness that allows the good glitches. The real problems are not proven to be caused by the Missingno glitch

Its the Virtual Console release. Some people insist they kept the glitches to help out competitive players and collectors (another way to get Mew, easy levelling, etc.), but really its because the VC is just an official emulator, meaning they just had to copy the original game files, just like a rom, with changes to things like button programming to allow them to work with the 3DS handled by the internal emulator.

Would have been nice if you showed footage of a transferred MISSINGNO and 'N in a new video...

On the gb/gbc When using the time machine to trade over to gsc If u try to trade over pkmn over 100 it wudnt work until u level down to 100 1st Plus 'm would show up as slowpoke couldnt trade it tho And Missingno. Would show up as Stantler (get it Missing No.) But yea once again u could trade it tho (Stantler was 1 of the pkmn that they had to remove from the original red an green ver b4 its original release) There r other glitched pkmn besides 'm an missingno for this exact reason

No I don't think that it would. The reason missingno is so weird in red and blue is because it wasn't intended to happen, if it's allowed to be transferred into sun/moon then I'm sure there will be data programmed in to the game for it to make it like a regular pokemon.

Flynn Baird no just get the fly and surf tms go speak to old man in verridian city then fly to cinebar island and surf on the east coast on the half ground half water spot and your good to go
