HYBE x Geffen auditions were announced in 2021 and the final girls have been training together since about a year! The goal is to be a global / american girl group

Hybe is doing something different than JYP, they have started 1 year ago and probably saving those for flashbacks of the girls. So we, as the audience, are catching them after they have done their training. So unlike A2K these girls arent amateurs, they have some latent skills/talents. I would guess, that they know more about the basics in singing, dancing, and stage performance. Judging by their age 15-19 they are also older and probably at the intermediate to advanced level in performance. This is all just a guess.

My understanding is TLDR: American based/Global group (English music maybe?) backed by HYBE's K-Pop industry experience/producers and work/training ethnic. Sounds interesting.

I think the show is busy being recorded, the reason why they're doing it like this is for us to vote on pure talent (i think lol).... We're getting performances every week and we vote (on weverse) after each on which 6girls stood out for us.... Then next year on Netflix we'll get the show we're now voting on 😅😅....

And of course she has charm] Actually, if we don't stick to the image of Koreans today. You didn't watch the "Art film"? blasphemy.. na im joking haha, but you should have watched the Art film first since that came first before the trailer, is 7 minutes long showing each member talents but in a hollywood/ movie style with amazing camera work. The money HYBE put into this promotion is actually insane, i feel bad for A2K since i feel like this HYBE group will cast a HUGE shadow in the world. And i say that because this group will be a collaboration between HYBE and Universal Music (which is the biggest music company in the planet), and HYBE is the biggest kpop company, put together the biggest music company with the biggest kpop company and you have dream academy.

A2K is only America tho. So while i agree their target audiences overlap, A2K is focusing on the states just like NiziU and japan. Dream seems to be the first truly global group

@@izzywoods794 You're right there Izzy ... I like JYP and the fact that it is promoted as an american kpop group formed in a kpop evironment. If it was only filled with western music then I wouldn't have watched. I think Dream Academy will also be kpop oriented because of Hybe. I am hoping so. But we already saw that the two vocal groups are covering Billie Eilish and Paramore..... Both are great, but I would want it to be more kpop.

Too many contestants and not much star quality. Just like you said. There is a lack of rational of why the show does certain things. Who are them? How were they selected? Why didn't they show their trainings? Why only 2 eliminations first and then a series of eliminations? How do they come up with the number of eliminations? WHY? WHY? WHY?
