Thanks Sadie! If you check out my channel I have a BOS update video that is a flip through of the pages. Most of it is hand drawn but it’s all printed in this book because as I said I transferred everything from a smaller size. Hey great tutorial! I’m finally making plans to start mine (after many failed attempts) and I will use use video as my instructions. Can I ask, you said your post screws are 2.3 inches, and your spine 4 inches, but the two boards you put holes in for the screws were spaced to each edge of the spine. Does the mean your post screws were actually 4 inches long? Or were the extenders 4 inches long collectively Please help!!! 😩
@BlueNightt2 жыл бұрын
So don’t use extenders they’re awful lol use 4 inch screw posts :) the extenders will make the measuring all too confusing and they probably won’t work right anyway tbh ☺️ I have since switched to 4” screws myself and it’s much better! I hope this helps! Good luck and thanks for watching!!
@darkphoenx39302 жыл бұрын
@@BlueNightt thank you!! This is much appreciated!! Did you also get the 4 inch screw posts from Amazon? Do you possibly have a link? If not no worries! This may be a stupid question and I may have missed where you addressed it. But how much of a gap did you leave between the posts and the spine? I’m just wondering if it will effect my pages stick out of the book? If the cover is 11inches in width and the pages are 10.5, do you install the posts about 0.2-0.4 inches away from the spine itself? If that makes sense?
@BlueNightt2 жыл бұрын
@@darkphoenx3930 the holes are about 3” apart from each other I believe, (I make them all the time but it’s so natural to me now) and if you’re looking at the measurement from the spine to the hole itself that should be half an inch, if your page tabs are an inch in width like mine. And I did order my posts on Amazon but I don’t have a link I’m sorry, I order them in bulk now. I hope all of this helps!!

When I picked up the paper I asked if they did custom punching and the kid working said “ummmmmmm...I don’t think so....no....we don’t do that” I knew he had no idea lol. I actually found an adjustable 3 hole punch with an open side on amazon for $20. Punched 3 holes and then flipped it over and punched one. No measuring every page; took 1.5 episodes of OITNB to punch all 500 pages.

@BlueNightt3 жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for watching! I wouldn’t suggest mod podge, when it dries it can be hard, and not very flexible. If you don’t want to get the POV glue offline the golden bottles of craft glue they sell at Walmart, hobby lobby Michaels etc also works but it takes longer to dry, so be very patient with your book before going to the next step! Thanks for your question! I hope that helps!

Amazing tutorial! I’ve watched it so many times and it’s the best one I’ve found hands down! I just have a question Bc I’m having a bit of trouble with my book: Is the spine supposed the be the exact width of the length of the postbound screw? For example, my screws are 2 inches in length, so should my spine be exactly 2 inches in width as well? Or am I supposed to add/subtract a bit? Something is causing my book to not close all the way and it seems it’s Bc the screws are a tad bit longer than the spine but it’s hard to say Bc I tried to make them the exact same size. Thank you so much for all the help you’ve provided from this tutorial! I couldn’t have done it without you.
@BlueNightt2 жыл бұрын
I normally make sure the spine is a teeeeny bit wider than the screws are long. The goal is for the cover to rest on the screws nicely when the book is closed, but you also don’t want the spine too wide or it’ll be hard to connect the screws :)

This is a fab tutorial, love how you made it, can you tell me how to measre the size of the spine for an A4 size journal, ideally I would like around 500 pages but don't have that many right now also what size of binding screws for A4? I love the image of the girl at @39.51 in video, is there a name for the image, what would I Goggle to find it? Absolutely love your pages, especially the pages I see at @40.00 time stamp, how do yout them to look like that with the marks on them? .....super talented, hope you can advise me :)
@BlueNightt5 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Suz!! So the size of your spine would depend on how many pages you’d like, I recommend using what pages you have, measure the thickness of maybe 100 of them and multiplying that measurement by 5 to determine the round about measurement. The image of the woman is titled Leanan Sidhe I found it on google :) And the marks on the pages @40.00 are purely natural occurrences when drying tea/coffee stained paper, you’ll find marks like this appear every so often if you used the same technique as I did :) Hope this helps!!

Hi BlueNightt. Thank you so much for this tutorial. Even though you posted it in 2019 I am just now seeing this....(not a social media regular) lol. I will say that I am a collector of all kinds of books including my current Charmed BOS (made by someone else 8x10). But my DREAM is to have the Charmed replica FULL SIZE. I just had a HUGE issue with a purchase my 3 kids bought for me as a gift. I HAVEN'T been able to find anyone in the US that makes the full size 11x14 so my kids got it from a seller on Etsy out of the UK. Huge mistake. Long story short, this seller was such a jerk, 3 weeks late on shipping and DAMANAGED on the cover with SO MANY mistakes and leaked pages. Just aweful. Returned it for a full refund. (Expecting that refund in the next few days) My kids then said, "Mom, you are so creative and can make just about anything....why not just make your own book yourself. I got nervous and, like another comment on here said, 'Intimidated'. Until I watched your video! Dude, I really think I can do it! I have made my notes for Hollanders (glue, leather, etc). Your video will literally be my instruction manual. Thank you so very much. I will also go to your website that you mention.

The biggest criticisms would be that Pagans are not different from Christians they just changed the rituals and the images and the idea of the divine the pagan Rituals is a big hocus-pocus about nothing and in the end they are praying / begging a force that is higher as themselve to fulfill the prayers / spells ( "by the power of Land. Stars and sea, earth, the moon godess… so may it be") paganism does not teach anyone greater power......
