Thank you for sharing this type of video. Not just painting, but showing the prep and clean up process. Hoping to drop some stuff for CSO app this year and this helps me fine tune my own process

I'm posting here to remind the algorithm that I want your channel back in my recommendations.

Do you dilute the varnish at all? Thanks.

I use it straight from the bottle. It's pretty thin in my experience and works well out of my air brushes :)

I go over my plastic CGL minis lightly with a brass brush, it knocks off most of the mold lines, then I can use an xacto blade as a scraper or a sanding pad, whatever makes sense for where the mold line is.

I’ll have to give that a try :)

I'm just getting into mini wargame so I have painted anything. Do you have a video on how to ID what is an isn't a model line?
@Thearmedpainter9 ай бұрын
I don’t have a video covering this unfortunately, it’s usually something you notice on the model that doesn’t look right relative to the other parts. That said, I often skip cleaning them as for basic table top gaming it doesn’t matter much. For paint competitions that’s a different story though :)

Mold lines are often times a lot easier to pick out after a model has been primed. But you eventually develop an eye for it with a little practice. I mainly focus on the ones that are easy to see. The CGL plastic minis are generally all mulipart, so the mold lines will be in different places on each body part where each was molded, but will often times be at least somewhat mirrored on both sides of the part. They will also jump out a lot more under magnification so I'd suggest using a magnifier when you're doing cleanup on your minis.

Hon, I bought you a new hairdryer. Yes, I can take care of the old one.

Obviously you can go to dollar tree and spend a dollar twenty five on sanding sticks

Or order them online, which I have, short of context on the specific part of the video you’re talking about though I’m not sure what type of reply you’d be looking for. I also don’t have every video I’ve made memorized so context is important. I do these in my free time as essentially a hobby right now (I don’t promise tutorials to patrons because of the time investment) if I was being paid to make tutorials the polish would likely be different but as it stands, I do the best I can with the time I am able to allocate. Hopefully you find something useful from these videos. If not, plenty of other creators on KZbin that are likely doing a better more professional job :)

Put your Cap out of the Screen plz

Forgot I had it on at the time and can’t go back and remove it, also thought I had a pop up on the screen apologizing when it was covering more important work, 24:55. I’m a one man show here for filming and editing so things aren’t perfect and mistakes will happen. Doing the best I can.

Hey not to be a bother but can you lose the hat so we can actually see everything lol

Can’t go back and re-film. It’s also been mentioned already and commented on.
