Also two non-spoiler tips: 1 - When fusing Pokemon, if the fused sprite silhouette is green, it means it has a custom sprite and I def recommend choosing that over one with like a white/grey background (which has an awkward automade fusion) 2 - Many Pokemon fusions have multiple custom sprites that you can check and change in the Pokedex. Just check the Sprite category in their Pokedex entry and you can see the different sprites and change em if you want

Both fusions don’t have the same stats tho some are way stronger and many are the ugly sprite. It’s best to check out the fusions online to know what fusions to make in advance.

Quick bit of information, (Also, was not expecting this at all, let alone a BLIND playthrough). Most of the fusions are AI generated, usually placing the face, feet, certain features (like Ninetails' Tails) and color palette of one pokemon (The "Head") on the other (The "body"). When fusing a pokemon you can tell the AI generated ones apart from the ones with actual artwork because the latter will have a green silhouette (Can never spell that right). Do keep in mind that you can also port in your own sprites, though I don't know the process of it myself. EDIT: Should also clarify that I wrote this before I watched the video.

@@jonathangoodwin5609 Depends on what version of the game you download, if you don't pre-download the custom sprites, it will download them as needed (provided there is one to use) You can even import sprites of your own/manually, but I'm not sure how since I haven't done it.

Just a couple of non spoiler stuff for the mechanics to help > The leveling of the fused pokemon becomes the average. > When the fused pokemon levels, the two individual mons also level > the fused mon will share the level up move selection. Hence why Nidoratta learned focus energy twice > Lots of changes are made. Like Sychter evolving at 40 instead of a metal coat. Especially traded mons evolve at levels. > When selecting the fusion head and body, peck the one that looks more unique silloute. Those are the custom ones. A lot are awkward AI made. > When unfusing, the mons do lose a bit of exp. But im sure they dont level down. Be wary of that. > *some same mods can be fused. Two rattatas can be fused for something unique.* And Casey. *Gardevoir has the most custom sprites.*

Here’s a tip if you’re ever worried about money! You can save the game before you do a bunch of experimental fusing/unfusing, and then reset once you run out of splicers, and repeat until you’re satisfied and know which ones you want to keep! ^^

I can tell this is gonna be a fun series! Tip: You’ll be able to buy an item later that will let you reverse a fusion, swapping the head and body Pokemon, so wait for that instead of using two DNA Splicers to unfuse and refuse them. And since fusion Dex entries just use one sentence from each half of the fusion, I thought it’d be fun to write my own Dex entries for the fusions you catch/create! Dunno if I’ll do this for all of them, but I’ll give it a shot! Here goes! Hoot Jr. - Mime Owl Pokemon “Since this Pokemon is nocturnal and has a childlike disposition, it is often mistaken for a lost child when encountered in the dark. It lives in grassy areas near towns and cities.” Squirt Jr. - Mime Turtle Pokemon “This Pokemon gets lots of attention for doing tricks with its Water Gun. Its favourite activity is going to towns and trying to mimic water fountains.” Nidotata - Mouse Pin Pokemon “It stays aware of its surroundings by using its sensitive ears. When attacked, it rams its attacker with its horn to poison it, then tries to run away.” Caterbat “It lives in dark forests where it flies around looking for leaves to eat. It uses its large eyes to see in the dark.” Kakth - Scratch Cocoon Pokemon “It will choose a tree to cling to and then scratch it relentlessly. If you see a tree heavily damaged by scratch marks, it was likely used by a Kakth waiting to evolve.” Hooth - Scratch Owl Pokemon “It prowls around at night looking for shiny objects to take back to its nest. This Pokemon’s keen eyesight lets it find things buried in tall grass.” Edit: Make sure to check out the Trainer’s School in Viridian City, as it has a lot of info on how fused Pokemon work! Also, some people have mentioned switching to a randomizer, but since most people I’m watching are doing randomizers, I think a “vanilla” run would be fun to see! Besides, I don’t wanna imagine what a randomized hard mode run would be like, since I doubt Ian will be switching off of hard mode any time soon

Okay so *claps hands together* Important Tip Time! No spoilers ofc You can fuse/unfuse Pokemon directly from your PC by picking the "Organize/Fuse" option, making doing so much easier than having to put them in your party and make room. When you fuse Pokemon the choices with a green silhouette are custom sprites while the plain grey ones are AI generated, so if you want the fusions to actually look somewhat cohesive I suggest only picking custom sprites. There is an Infinite DNA Splicer in the game that lets you fuse and unfuse as many times as you want free of charge, but it's around the mid to late game and you have to beat a tough challenge to get it. Not really a tip, just something I thought ya'll might like to know and look forward to later down the line.

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THAT'S SO HYPE!! 1:09 The main location is Kanto but in terms of gameplay it's supposed to be around gen 7 (the highest generation of pokemon in this game) and visually it uses assets from gen 5 but doesn't have any 3d model locations 3:35 Wait, what is there that you have to specify so dearly that B does not stand for? Bad? I know I'm a part behind but for the record there IS a way to get as many Ralts as you want early-game. I might give a tip on part 2 if you're completely passing them by but I don't want to fully backseat either so it's a slippery slant. You could name ONE of your 4-ish rivals in Pokemon X & Y, not including remakes. X & Y was also the last time not including remakes that Chatot could be caught. Two upsetting removals, we desparately need Chatot back in the Gen 9 DLC or the world will crumble away awww i get the logic when people don't nickname their pokemon in this game but i found a lot of fun in mixing different nicknames together when fusing mons, like when I took Bowser the Squirtle and Super Crown the NidoranFemale to make Bowsette in my first playthrough which was a Nuzlocke. (Don't ask what happened to her it's a spoiler) Regardless of if you've been told about the day/night cycle being in-game and really fast and visible while pausing and manipulated by Inns, I'd like to share a tip in that the moves Moonlight and Sunny Day can be used to change the time of day to make quests easier; though unless it's been fixed while I wasn't looking using those moves indoors can be risky so make sure to save before use (since you're doing a let's play and might not want to save in case of footage corruption or something you'd probably want to use a secondary save file, like G for Ghub) 22:43 WHY DO THEY HAVE BLACK BLOOD TEARS 34:19 what they don't mention is that rivalry makes you do less to the opposite gender. but that won't matter usually because most trainer pokemon are fused and when that happens they're genderless and thus neutral. 35:53 Yeah in case you haven't noticed by the end of part 2 all of the already fused pokemon that trainers have and that are found in the wild are genderless, so there's a LOT of Non-Binary Pokemon. The levels ARE slightly higher in Hard Mode, but you already named the series sooo Appletun is Gen 8, sorry ='( wait if casey calls sudowoodo treecko what does casey call treecko 46:02 Arch-Rival, or Arch-Lover? talking to npcs a second time after battles allows extra goodies, like multi-battles to level your team, extra money for filling out pokedex, etc; also clicking a at spiderwebs/mushrooms in forest allow chance of items/pokemon encounters

Well, this should be a fun time. I always love well-made fan projects, the love and passion that goes into making something like this is inspiring. Ooh, fusion seems really cool! Well, seems like hard mode is indeed living up to its name. Ian may even have to *gasp* use items mid-battle! Huh, I wonder how fusions interact with evolution? Like, if fused Pokemon just can't evolve, that'd be a good incentive to train them up prior to the fusion. That was actually Reagan with "tear down this wall," which is about as bad as being Nixon, all things considered. Come to think of it, if the DNA splicers are a new invention, why are there so many fused Pokemon in the wild? Are they all ones trainers have released for one reason or another? Are they Silph Co.'s test subjects for creating the thing? Or should we just not think about it and have fun fighting the crazy fusions?

Ian, for your consideration, Fusions have direction in this. Which mon is the head and which is the body will change how they inherit stats and typings, as well as affecting the sprite of course. I don't know all the mechanics, but there is a measurable difference between the two options when fusing a pair of 'mons

It will get its physical stats from the body (mainly) and special stats from the head. The body will give its first type (so, a bulbasaur body will grant a grass typing, for instance) and the head its second type (a bulbasaur head will Grant poison typing). But, noone realy cares about that, the looks is why this game must be played, hahah. Although, that paras could be fused to grant a grass type instead of bug, and that would be great against Brock AND misty...

if you want to know a build in cheat that lets you catch rare pokemon beat your rival that appears to the left of the second town before you face brock. a secret grotto opens up on route 1 on the right top of the route. you will have to walk into the trees. this cheat just lets you catch rare pokemon that might not appear for a little while so no need to do it if you dont want to.

this is the game I wanted you two to play the most after scarlet. the fyre starts with grass type stuff is funny because in the anime about gen 1 red picks charmander because he is named red and then green picks squirtle because he wants to win hardmode is better ai, heal spam and higher lvls, so yes you will need more grinding and normal already has a bit of grinding for money grinding the best thing to do is spaming payday with against a trainer, rematching them gives no money otherwise, but they give tons of exp there are a couple of hidden areas where you can get some pokemon earlier, the game hints about them a bit about where they are but they are really missable
