Very cool. One of my all time favorite scary movies. Although I have to say I'm bummed that there's not a lake behind it. And the care dealership and busy road doesn't help either. Thanks for sharing!

there IS a reservoir within walking distance and its where they filmed the "lake" scenes. Access is "private" so go at your own risk.
@serenatwilite40056 жыл бұрын
@@dezmodius Are you sure it was a reservoir? it certainly looks nothing like a reservoir in the movie. I had heard it was filmed at an actual lake, not too far from the house. I can't remember the name of it. What about the ferry scenes in the movie? Would there be a ferry on a reservoir?
@serenatwilite40056 жыл бұрын
I just saw the name of it again, Cedar Lake. They said the ferry was there, too.

I saw this at a drive in in New Orleans. Coming home to the quarter we broke down dead in front of the cemetery. Yikez!

This is great. Thanks for posting. Wish we could see inside. They should turn it into a B & B or museum to get some use out of it.

A great movie, and an exquisite house that has been unfortunately left to rot. What a shame.

Wow - what a cool video to see. Thanks for posting this. What beautiful moldings and gingerbread trim this place has. I've always been especially curious to see the tower up close, they certainly have it packed full of something. Exotic looking tree across from it with yellow flowers to match. I'd love to know the real history on this house and what kind of people built it and lived there. It must have been a fun house to live in back in it's glory days. Especially before that became a busy road with a car dealership across from it, although now you'd have more to spy on from the tower. I could just see a matching gazebo sitting out in the yard or a hammock under one of those shady trees.

that movie is not nearly as frightening now that I know that what appears to be a car dealership is across the road. 😉 is this house for sale, or just wasting away vacant?
@TheRealNormanBates8 жыл бұрын
Ah, but what you don't realize is that it is a PINTO dealership!

Now THAT'S frightening.
@serenatwilite40056 жыл бұрын
Well, the car dealership probably wasn't there when the movie was filmed, but just guessing.

@@TheRealNormanBates Are you just kidding about this being a Pinto dealership. Didn't they outlaw those back in the 70's?

Great movie and creepy looking house, I thought it would have been out in the county, not beside a busy road.

I wish you backed the drone up so we could see the house from a distance (ie closer to the main street), as well as what was around the house. Still, appreciate the good view of the tower. Shame to see the house in such a state of disrepair.

Saw it listed on Zillow today over 5 million...yrs ago it was at 280,000..wow...looks like who ever buys this will tear it down for that money and build commercial stores. 😕
@serenatwilite40056 жыл бұрын
@@JanRaz1955 Hard to imagine something in this state of disrepair going for that kind of money. I've looked at a lot of homes in Los Angeles that look twice this size, in perfect condition, that aren't going for more than 3 million. This must really be some prime commercial property. It's sickening though to think about this beautiful, rare piece of history being torn down to build stores.
