This video was really motivating. I'm suffering from HS for 3 years now and it has become really painful in the past few months. I was depressed and ready to give up. Thank you Hidrawear and THANK YOU Jackson for this ray of hope.

Hi K. Nefion, glad you like the video and find it motivating. HS can be so tough to manage and I'm gal you found a ray of hope from this HS story. There are lots of support groups online, on Facebook, twitter, Instagram, and Redditt if you ever want to join and talk about your experiences with others who will understand :)

I hope what I have learned over a lifetime gives some useful points for research and application for your daughter. Anti-inflammatory (organic where possible) diets stop the leaky gut issue, and trigger foods (dairy, alcohol, sugar) avoidance to manage insulin and hormone impact. Daily use of Salicylic acid soap (this is a gentle acid exfoliant - avoid physical exfoliating like grains and luffahs in sensitive areas - this is too harsh for your skin) and daily application of antimicrobial emollient / moisturizer for skin (such as Dermol 500 with active ingredients benzalkonium chloride, chlorhexidine dihydrochloride, liquid paraffin, isopropyl myristate) works wonders for prevention. The only topical ointment I have found that has any effect on reducing flares is 8-Trek drawing ointment from South Africa (with active ingredients Bituminol, a natural antiseptic that helps to prevent the growth of bacteria and fungi. Combined with methyl salicylate, which has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties, this ointment is a potent solution for a wide range of skin problems.) Apply as soon as you notice flare ups and they reduce like magic overnight - This stains and smells like petroleum so best applied over night in small quantities to effected areas. Given the locations of flare ups dressings are often not possible, so wearing old loose clothing is essential when using this ointment. Always wash towels and clothing after single use as standard practice. There is increasing evidence that shows laser hair removal to assist with managing areas of skin such as under arms (I am 6 months in on my laser hair removal treatment) and my skin is much easier to manage being free of hair and smooth). The Manscaped Lawn Mower trimmer is the best trimmer I have found to shave delicate areas, with no flare up causing micro abrasions that you get from a razor. This is marketed for men, but it is excellent for women too, especially in sensitive areas. No snagging, rashing, or ingrown hairs. I use a standing desk instead of sitting all day - great for lots of reasons. Things like breathing exercises, cold showers, exercise (especially bouncing on trampolines for lymphatic drainage), hydration, stretching and calming exercises like Yoga, Thai massage etc all assist with body resilience and holistic health that forms part of the necessary homeostasis for symptom prevention and management.

Try eliminating meat and all sugars as both hurt pancreas (high blood sugar is correlated). Dairy and eggs are great. Good luck 💜

Wait til he gets to stage 4 where I am at now. None of that will work any longer. The disease at some point is resilient to all.

Hey I just got diagnosed with HS Stage 2, its on my groin, arm pits, chest, did you have any surgeries? or are you just trying to survive with food and meds?

Have you ever tried fasting or just eating meat or just plant based?

@@Heavensent0602 I think it's from meats/purines and sugar as both are proven to cause or worsen diabetes and blood sugar (which is correlated with HS). Vegetarian diet probably better than vegan to reduce heavy metals (sulfur chelates heavy metals effectively). Dairy and eggs have no purines. Anyone reading this, please try no meats or sugars. 🙏🏻
