What is Cutting In?
Cutting in involves creating neat lines where walls meet ceilings, trims, or other surfaces. There are two techniques:
Lipping On: Applying paint to create a clean line along the surface.
Lipping Under: Painting slightly below, which can expose uneven edges.

A good and useful vid. Stephen. Re sash brushes, we went over to Netherlands to do some work and I lit upon sash brushes and bought a load to sell on! Thought I was on a winner ....... What white paint would you recommend for ceiling and walls? I’m Thinking it’ll stand out if I use ceiling paint then a different wall paint in white.

I like johstones coverplus trade for walls and ceilings, but if it a ceiling were lots of natural light comes in I would the tikerilla Anti reflex paint.

@ so the the white on the wall is above a picture rail so it won’t have much traffic compared to the lower parts of the wall, will AR2 be okay on wall too? Thanks for reply mate

I have heard it marks easy on the walls, I have never used it on the wall, it would touch up well though.

They all frame and flash to a certain degree, it's all down to light and wet edges

For me its rough coat first straight line second second coat goes on easier for me

Is it better to cut in with a straight or angles brush mate? I find it hard to get top corner nice when using a different colour on a new wall.

I always used a normal brush, it's just how I was taught, its easier when the bristles are long sometimes I use a Fitch if the corner is being a bugger. Thanks for watching.
