15:52 I don’t want to say the hosts missed the mark with the first AITA bc I know everyone draws on their own personal experiences but I don’t think they understood her actual concern. She doesn’t have a boyfriend. She has a roommate. He’s doing regular life (working, paying bills, etc) but he’s not making effort in the relationship. She’s not complaining about the extras she’s doing. She’s being unappreciated and not being “courted” or “chased” romantically by her man anymore. It seems like she identified the issue, talked to him in November and she gave him time to adjust but he’s not fulfilling her needs in their relationship.

I think they literally covered all of that. But the consensus is that it’s too late. She already felt that way probably unknowingly for a while before she spoke up and it’s too late it’s time to move on. So telling him to do the things she wants and her not appreciating it has nothing to do with the effort at this point and everything to do with it’s time to move on.

They’re big thing was that he’s making a gesture on doing things she asked from him and that she should appreciate it. They didn’t acknowledge that she said she was begging him for months to do things that he is barely now doing and that it doesn’t feel genuine anymore. Like why did it take months of begging for him to finally make a gesture at all? At that point during the times she was begging she should’ve left and Josh and sebas should’ve acknowledged that right away and said that she should’ve left while she had to beg for anything.

The retirement convo is something we should talk more about because the whole not having a purpose narrative is what's toxic. It's normal to feel that but to say yea after retirement you don't have a purpose because you don't work a job anymore is not the way we should be looking at it. It's more of a time to enjoy not NEEDING to work FT which as you guys stated unfortunately a lot of ppl like my parents can't actually afford it. I think the beauty of retirement when you can afford to do it is to live your life for yourself and the things you love. We don't NEED a career or thing outside of us to GIVE us purpose, as we exist we are enough and a purpose doesn't define us. I think our purpose changes through the different stages of life and we just have to embrace retirement as a different stage where our purpose changes. It's like we've made it to the castle and we've beat Koop Troopa and now it's time to truly enjoy the fruits of our labor 😉 I think our immigrant parents deserve to retire and chill but also do things they didn't get to do before because they were too busy surviving. However, it's so hard to get them to understand and unlearn what they've had to learn to survive in this country for most of their lives at this point 💔

What is interesting is that when you experience blatant racism, you are so flabbergasted that you kind of freeze, like is this sh*t really happening right now? And you react in a way that is different than what you thought. All of the times I’ve experienced racism or prejudice my reaction wasn’t explosive and I think it’s because an act of racism/prejudice is a humiliation. Then you go home and you think of all the ways you should have reacted bc it cuts you deep. It changes your view of the world.
