Will they add Google or Alex into emo?

Not sure about that I hope they develop their own personally.

Isn't the issue about having Alexa in any current robot an issue of having easy access to the knowledge you may extract from Alexa? We want that "smartness".

That is a point then why not just have an Alexa? The development of robotics at this stage to advance the navigation ability, autonomous nature of the robot and building the social ability of the robot. Alexa and Google are great at information delivery because that is one of their primary focuses. When you add them to a robot the robots prime abilities tend to get in the way. They are not as efficient in the delivery of the information. I have many robots that do have Alexa in them and even the one that has Alexa as its primary functional platform tends to be only at 70% of the Alexa features and running a 75% completion rate of Alexa capabilities. I get why some may want this feature but adding Alexa as a sub personality just is not as efficient as Alexa itself. But if a robotics company could self develop their own information data protocol then they could take into account the robots movement and developed personality to make a more effective delivery. Of course a robotics company could add Alexa or Google to their bot think they should provide the ability to opt in or out. The most important factor is continued updates and development of the robot it's self

@@BruceHunsaker Does the average purchaser care about the lofty goals of robotic development? What is the marketing goal for Emo? Isn't the greatest share of potential purchasers more motivated by their desire for entertainment and information? Not everyone expects to be a Beta Tester with a price tag of $300.00. Which is the larger piece of that market share? Which share will pay the bills? It's called sustainability.

@@jerrydeanswanson79 well I agree that is why you can get a echo dot for 30 bucks. We all been beta testers through the year cell phones computers have all evolved because of our usage. EMo is heading the right direction consistent updates visually he can read small hand signals his companion abilities are growing. I get why some people want to put Alexa in their bots but it's not new ground and Amazon will not release full capabilities to third party devices. But good news Amazon has built a robot with Alexa built in and will retail for about $1299.00. Desktop robots offer a distraction and future companion ability beyond what a echo can do and over time they will also crack the information delivery. The current base standard of a desktop robot will tell you the time tell you the weather set alarms and reminders basic personal assistant protocols. But some now dance play games have small talk tell jokes. Navigate their surroundings and recognize there owner and others. EBO is a security and pet distraction designed to help pet owners to check on their furry friend. But much like cell phones development they can become very useful. I would rather see the creators of robots to come up with their own information delivery process that fits in the robots ecosystem the fits the robot. I get why people want Alexa but I also don't think it's the best choice.
