Everything ive gotten from Team Wachuma has been healthy and vigorous. Plus inexpensive with a few " Rescues" thrown in. I will only spend what little spare money I have here. Dude is the best.

Great collection 😎👍🌵 The worst part of having a cactus fall over, is catching it. For me the spines are the coolest part. Lumberjack would be an awesome addition to my garden.

I have a san pedro cutting i planted in small decorative ceramic pot for my patio after it slowed down growth from being root bound i pulled it. Out and trimmed the roots just like bonsai growers do now its growing happy again

Lots of stores throw away little plastic trays that are used for delivering soda i believe, i put my square pots in them so they dont tip and so i can carry more than one at once
@TeamWachumaАй бұрын
that is what I prefer too. I have a collection of miscelaneous trays something like that, but I could use a lot more. I"ll see what I can scrounge up. It is much easier.

Have you shared anywhere your substrate mix? It looks beautiful
@TeamWachumaАй бұрын
Nin detail, but it is basically standard potting mix, preferably coco based, with an equal amount of charcoal. I do add other stuff when I have it. coffee grounds, wood ashes, shrimp, fish, or crab meal etc. the charcoal can suck up a lot of nturients in the beginnning, so either charge it up with nutes or use extra fertilizers for the first month or two. the charcoal is a big investment, but they seem to thrive in it and it lasts forever, just like an aggregate. I might talk about it a little here kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZi2g3WiZt19epYsi=rAbd_HGj5ASaJoQ6 I'll make a video about it and the rationale sometime.

Very cool. Thank you. And may I ask, what size square containers are you using @20:43
@TeamWachumaАй бұрын
@@1neAdam12 the bigger ones are anderson 5x5x8 tree bands. they have no bottom really, but you can put in a piece of netting or sometning, that's what I do.

Do you use foliar sprays for growth regulation too??
@SkillCultАй бұрын
No. It seems like they would not be very good candidates for foliar feeding, because they are so stingy about keeping in moisture. I think foliar sprays work primarily through stomata. I haven't researched it though, maybe cactus have them too, or the stuff could get through anyway. I don't feel like researching it and it doesn't seem like a very good gamble, so I just don't do it.
@trubizDD54Ай бұрын
@@SkillCult In fact foliar applications for cacti are EXTREMELY beneficial. However, they use C.A.M. unlike typical stomata and only open when it is night cycle. Most open in the middle of the night. Therefore, spraying at the wee hours with something like kelp, hormones, garden phos., etc. is EXTREMELY beneficial! I have had incredible success with this method especially during dormancy months.
@SkillCultАй бұрын
@@trubizDD54 Great. I'm not sure where I would use that much. I seem to do great with liquid ferts. maybe bringing back a really malnourished cactus. I do spray my seedlings overhead with liquid fert, so maybe they are benefiting. good to know either way.
@trubizDD54Ай бұрын
@@SkillCult Only if you are spraying them at night... During the day the CAM is closed tight!

Hey dude I know you're probably crazy busy but if you could make a family tree diagram for some of these crosses I'd really appreciate it I find it fascinating but I get all mixed up

When I start selling cuts of seedlings, I'll write something up about parentage. Otherwise, that probably won't happen lol.
