Interesting, fun test, Chris. I've got about a hundred hours on my nephew's KX057-4. I think I like the thumb and wider track on the Yanmar better, however, from an ease of operation for a low time operator, the counterweight on the Kubota is probably safer. Hey, you drive a Ford and I drive a Dodge. Keep up the good work, son. Your video's are the highlight of my day........

I have the older version of the KX057/ KX161-3 angle blade...2008 bought it new.. actually traded my KX121 in because it was too lite.... The 161-3 has 4250 one operator hours and runs like new... just had the main blade pin and bushings replaced last week and a case drain installed and quick attach skid steer adapter to run my Halverson firewood processor... also have a Helac power tilt I bought a few months ago and several other attachments... auger, ripper tooth, 5 different buckets ,12,18,24,30" tooth and 48" grading bucket plus I can now use my 72" g.p. bucket off my Kubota tractor mated to the skidsteer coupler . Also have a side tool brand log splitter.... Still running original set of rubber tracks... Great video guys thanks for sharing.. stay safe, Tom

Hi Chris Love all your videos. I like both machines but I've seen both of those machines in action on several of our jobs and the Kubota has always been a little more stronger than the Yanmar. I'm sure you've watched Cotontop's videos and his machine is quite impressive. That Rotobec grapple is the way to go if your moving logs and pipe all day. That's an incredible attachment and well worth the money if that's what kind of work you do. Keep up the great work and enjoy the new machine. That's a beauty and Volvo is one strong piece of iron. A friend of mine has over 300 pieces of equipment and he was always a Cat guy. Over 8 years ago he made the change to Volvo and 75 percent of all his construction equipment is Volvo. He has anything from the small ones to the 950. He's a large roadbuilder in the East. Have a great week and have a Great Fourth Of July!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Chris, the model tells me he has .2 more metric tons on you. If you want to add a counterweight to the back of the Yanmar we can do that for sure. I have added an extra weight to most of the Yanmar line and it moves the center of gravity about 4 to 6 inches depending on the model. They are purchased directly from Yanmar and come painted to match with the decals already installed.

The biggest surprise for me having spent a bit of time in the Yanmar is that it could even pick the pipe up. Every Yanmar I have run always feel a bit gutless to me, especially in the slew. Used my mate's Volvo 58 the other day and I liked that a lot. So far I'd be Volvo first, Yanmar 2nd and Kubota 3rd.

Interesting. You could add weight to the Yanmar, or possibly offset the counter weight shifting it further back. But that would add machine weight and/or lose the zero clearance. Plus changing back would be such a pain you wouldn't do it often. But what if you could shift the counterweight aft and pull it in when the zero clearance was needed,.....almost like putting the blade out/down or an aft boom that tips the weight aft.

The 57 is a good machine we've got one I like running it, ours has steel tracks, rubber bands wouldn't survive. I don't know if the 57 will get to 12000 hours plus like the 161 it replaced being the 57 has an emissions engine. The Yanmar has of stuff jammed in a small space I curse enough working on the fleet of Kubota's working on that Yanmar would be frustrating. If you were doing lots of really tight conditions work the Yanmar would win for general excavating I would take the 57s big ass any day of the week the stability is nice.

@wpog84534 жыл бұрын
That's very rudimentary info on each machine though. How that power and flow is managed and prioritized to each function is the "devil in the details". The Yanmar VIPP system from what I have gathered is a more advanced and efficient hydraulic system.
@JerichoRally4 жыл бұрын
@@wpog8453...rudimentary info that is the product of the overarching systems/ technology.
@wpog84534 жыл бұрын
@@JerichoRally what I'm saying is that that is not sufficient info to determine overall performance of either machine. If you were to attach say, a brush cutter, to both machines, neither is going to put 30 something gallons per minute to the cutter. That's the combined flow of the pumps to all functions. It's also important to know how that flow is distributed or shared between those functions especially when they are used simultaneously. That being said, we can't tell which one of the 2 is the higher performer based on those basic figures.
@wpog84534 жыл бұрын
@@JerichoRally also. Those max relief pressure settings are likely for the drive motor circuits and have nothing to do with boom, swing, or aux. functions which can often be at a little lower setting.
