That building pad sure looks purrdy! Would love to be the contractor setting the building on it . Would running the compactor in the borrow pit reduce future sinking? Or would the compactor just disappear into the muck. Greeting from Canada where it is currently 19 F with 2" of snow.

Is that blue clay coming out of the pond area ? [shudders] That stuff redefines "nasty" in all conditions and situations. When dry it makes concrete seem soft. When wet it makes quicksand seem friendly.

Got any advice on grading with the dozer? I do okay but every now and again I’ll get whoops and half to start over
@letsdig185 жыл бұрын
Haha it happens to me, try to keep a half of a blade and it won't be so bouncy when finish grading. You can also angle the blade it makes the footprint longer and the machine more stable
@johnscott28495 жыл бұрын
Just asking . Have you tried a different air chuck on that tire? I know I have maybe 5 different air chucks and have found that on some valve stems that a particular chuck won't work but another one will.

Dozer work....is it not beneficial to back-drag when trying to level off a slope?
@letsdig185 жыл бұрын
Dozers are made to grade going forwards, back dragging should really only be used to lightly pull some material back and smooth out track marks
@ROTTK95 жыл бұрын
looking at the end results, it might for that part of the job, be faster to push than pull, but there is always more than one way to de-fur a feline so if back-dragging was done it just did not make it in the video.

Is there a reason for the bump-outs on the right side in the barrow pit?
@rharris58115 жыл бұрын
There isn't room to get the machine sideways to cut the sides. He had to cut at a angle and that's what made the bumps.
