Over 10,000 Prussian Carp netted in this Alberta Reservoir

In this video we visit the Blood Indian Park Reservoir. Not all that long ago this lake attracted anglers from across the province with the potential of landing some very large trout. However, over the last few years Prussian Carp have started to take over the water body, efforts are now underway by AEP to remove this invasive species.

caught one in cardiff park pond. looked up fishing report for the pond and wasnt listed in there. so i killed it.

Prussian Carp are invasive everywhere. The sport fishing guide says to always kill them.

I caught one on Monday , Didn't know I had to kill it. it was about 5 inches

Need to go there around the middle of April, we got video of them spawning around the edges of the lake, there were that many the water looked alive

Need to start this program also in Severn Dam before the carp take over, I caught a big carp 3 years ago, heaven knows how many are in there now. Time for me to head back out there in the next little while, had a hiatus on fishing, schedule very busy.

You won't do anything. This Prussian carp is from the Far East, from the Amur River. It is also invasive for Europe. The real European is the Crucian carp. It was supplanted by the Prussian carp

@@antsromania469 No, not true. The homeland of the Prussian carp is the Far East. For Eastern Europe, it is invasive. The home kind for Eastern Europe is the Crucian carp. In Ukraine, the Crucian carp has practically disappeared. It is in the Red Book. It was supplanted by the Prussian carp

​@Zelimhan77 you are 100% correct I am from Poland and crucian carp is gone they're rare. I do think more people should fish for Prussian carp in Alberta it's a lot of fun especially for kids and they can put up the figh , they're not bad to eat in my opinion, can be use for fertilizer or what I'm planning to do freeze them and use them in winter to bait birds of pray for wildlife photography.
