tebogo was running to win. having said that, he would have been a 9.81s if he hd closed at 0.85 per 10m split from 70m, if he had maintained that. he does a 6.41 per 60m along with coleman. then starts doing 0.85s per 10m split. That means for this race he would have kept accelerating to have perhaps tops 9.80s. He is clearly holdng out and is nearing sub 9.80 zone by the end of the year in training. if he gets stronger he could do 9.7 low.

Can't wait to see what he will do at Brussels.. He promised to fire all the cylinders and maybe challenge the African record since it will be his last race.

Imo, with such a start, Tebogo showed me that he has 9.7s low potential, as long as he focus on the 100m a little bit. 3.80 + 2.57 + 3.37 = 9.74 seems attainable in the future for a guy like Tebogo.
@Performancelabofcalifornia2 ай бұрын
@@Yes_I_c4n 6.37 in the 60m would definitely require some improvement in his drive phase.. It’s attainable but he will have to get better
@Yes_I_c4n2 ай бұрын
@@Performancelabofcalifornia Tebogo has split 3.80 and 2.58/2.59s already - in different races. If Tebogo gets those splits together in the same race, meaning with no improvement whatsoever, Tebogo is already at 6.38/6.39s. So, in reality, we're talking about a 0.01/0.02s improvement only in order to get him at 6.37s. Not that far off at all.
@Performancelabofcalifornia2 ай бұрын
@@Yes_I_c4n just needs consistency. So far he has either started well in the first 30m or gets behind and runs a better 30-60m.. obviously he is still young but putting together a full race and yeah we should see 9.7s, probably low 9.7s
@Yes_I_c4n2 ай бұрын
@@Performancelabofcalifornia The main issue I see currently is he hasn't yet shown the ability to go 3.37s from 60...100m. But I think 3.37s is well within his capabilities in the future. For now (this season), I would say 9.8s flat (6.39+3.41) is likely his ceiling. Maybe next season.-- He might improve at a fast rate if he focus on the 100m, but he seems to be focusing a bit more on the 200m, apparently, so 9.7s might not come next season still.

I think Tebogo should learn how to drive. He always gets out of his drive phase early. Yes he can afford it due to his endurance but he can reach higher speeds with a slightly longer drive phase
@ashleymusihiwa2 ай бұрын
@@mab0738 Tebogos style of running is about maintaining top speed forever. He has to get off from drive early and frame for maintaining top speed ,say 0.83s per 10m from 50 meters.

Anything under 9.83s seems a bit of a stretch. He split 0.85+0.86+0.90 while showboating. Had he not showboated, likely 0.85+0.85+0.87 => 9.83s.

Shouldn’t both foot turn out a bit at top speed so you can land on the outside edge of the foot? And lastly what if one foot turn in

Yeah feet are okay but just don’t want that whole leg to rotate out (like what we see in Tebogo’s right) on both sides.. Some turn in the feet/ankles isn’t bad.
