I saw a knitted wire bead bracelet at my favorite bead shop, Fandangale in Chesterfield, Va. I wanted to make one and now I can. You instructions and directions were very clear. I can't wait to make one this weekend. Thanks for a great video.

Eventually I made this bracelet. I just needed to manipulate it better with my fingers. Also I think that it looks better if the first stitch isn't knitted but just shifted onto the right needle as I always do with regular knitting. I used beautiful golden and silver buttons. It turned out very original! Now it's my favourite bracelet:-) Thanks for sharing. Good luck!

Lovely clear demo ... i've been trying to knit with various wires for ages and now i know why it was so hard because i was not using wooden needles!

Knowing the right gauge is important. I've been attempting to use a smaller gauge of and became frustrated very easily. Thank you for sharing. Will have another go at this.

Well, I tried. But it's not as easy as it looks here. Wire twists too much no matter what and doesn't form such neat rows. It's all shapeless. I'm an experienced knitter but never before tried to knit with a wire. But I never knit the first stitck, just shift it onto the right needle to made an even border. I tried to knit the first stick as a purl but it turned out all crooked. I used the recommended gauge. It all looks too thin and loose. What are the tricks again as I want to make such a bracelet of wire but right now it seems to me that the easiest way is just to crochet it with a metallic yarn with beads using a similar technique?

Is there a specific reason why you purl the entire necklace instead of knit? Does it make a difference with the wire?
@LetsKnit2gether9 жыл бұрын
+Haidyn Hocklander The less twisting of the wire the better. The purl stitch tends to be the least twist over knit stitch.

Tried this but need more info. eg. Where to house your beads till you need them>?Are you using two wires or one>?
@LetsKnit2gether7 жыл бұрын
Knit with a single strand of wire. Load the beads on the wire in the reverse order. Pull a new bead close to the stitch and knit the bead as shown in the video.
@lizzy-folksongsscottis45187 жыл бұрын
Ah! Thanks I was using 2 wires! One to knit & one to hold the Beads. :) so okay now thanks. How do you calculate your wire amount to use?

I found knitting with wire very difficult!!! You make it look so easy. My best advice for a complete beginner, (which I am) is DO NOT LET YOUR WIRE GET TANGLED UP!!!!! It makes a horrible mess and makes it a lot harder and you will be sorry.

Put the spool of wire in a small zip lock bag. Pull the wire through an opening in the bag. I found that helpful in keeping the wire from tangling up.
im sorry but the video is not that much of help, i hope they focus the video more on the knitting assuming that viewers are learning this for the first time and have no ideas of basic knitting at all , the video kips skipping some steps thus and keeps focusing away
