Some of the stories in Hindu mythology will have variations depending on the place where they are told, whether it is in the Indian subcontinent or Southeast Asia. Hindu stories in Kerala are different from those in Nepal. Nepalese Hindu stories are different from those in Gujarat, and Gujarati Hindu stories are different from those in Bali, Indonesia. Even within the Ramayana, there are different versions such as the Thai Ramayana, Burmese Ramayana, Cambodian Ramayana, Ramayana in Laos, Sri Lankan Ramayana, Indian Ramayana, and Balinese Ramayana. This is because Hinduism is at least 5000 years old, and most of the stories even predate that, leading to many versions in different countries or different parts of India. But eventually, all stories lead to Brahman.

South India was Dravidian race and they endure forest and agriculture mostly when Aryans came from the north they learnt the matriarchal way of living in the south. South respect nature as feminine like Kali (or mother earth) and North is more of worshiping of Rama or the Adithyas(sun dieties). Genes are also distintive in both one is more white and the other is black..but now it's all mixed 😊

Hinduism is not a religion of book... so place to place things do change... i will give u another example only in the eastern part of the country... especially in Bengal Lakshmi and Saraswati .. Goddess of wealth and prosperity and Goddess of knowledge and art are considered as daughters of Shiva and Durga (a form of Goddess Parvati) But in other places its not the case ... the three Goddesses Parvati,Lakshmi,Saraswati are not related to one another... Its just the way it is ... people admire divinity in their own ways, without fighting each other out for blasphemy and sectarian divides ... believe as u feel comfortable ... no one is forcing it on anyone..
