I’ve owned the Jailbird S2S for about 3 weeks now and it has required adjustments to my setup and putting stroke. The most significant change is the 6 degrees of loft, requiring a 3 degree forward press, which is built into the shaft angle. If you don’t make contact with that forward press in your stroke the ball will pop up like a chip. However, once you make that adjustment the feel off the face is very pure. I’m not sure why all these zero torque putters need a built in forward press, but I think the LAB forward press grip may be a better way to do it.
@BruinMikeАй бұрын
Thanks for the detailed review! I also have the Jailbird and absolutely love it. One thing to note is that it does take a little time to get used to the setup-especially maintaining a forward shaft lean so you don’t see the white face insert. Also, the cover you showed isn’t the one that came with my putter, which I found interesting. The only downside for me is the sticker on the shaft. Thanks again for the amazing review; I always appreciate the in-depth insights!

Very good video. Would you consider reaching out to Odyssey with two questions. 1) Can you change the grip without affecting the balance of the putter and 2) Can you make the head heavier with heavier weights without affecting the balance. The reason I ask is because LAB individually weight each putter and so would adjusting some variable imbalance the 'square to square'.
@LetsPlayThruАй бұрын
I don't have any contacts over there, but I will say...they offer various grip options if you order online. I assume changing the weight will definitely affect the balance and likely not recommended. This is where L.A.B. really shines and why they cost more as well.

I like the forward press personally. Because that face is softer you do have to swing a bit harder, so long putts have a bit more arc, consequently leaving a bit more room for failure too. But I think once you dial it in, you should learn to love it.

Regardless of the jazzy look in the high technology, funny enough there’s something to be said about simplicity, and from what I saw here you put it better with the Kirkland signature putter over a year ago. The tournaments that were one and the miraculous pets that were made over the last 30 years were with much last technology, then they put into this putter and you would have to think some of those wonderful putts that were made may have missed the cup if they had been using something like this. I don’t believe all the tech and gimmicks in putters and drivers. If it was all true with drivers, we’d be driving at 40 yards further than 5 years ago.
