In the motel story, “New York guy” actually sounded really sweet, seems like he was doing all he could to make the storyteller feel protected during a scary situation. Also, in the K-Pop audition story, here’s what I would’ve done: once I established that this guy is a creep, and a threat, who is trying to get me outside, alone, to his car, I would’ve pointed at him and yelled so everyone, since there were people around, could hear me and say “ THIS GUY IS TRUING TO GET ME TO GO OUTSIDE WITH HIM TO HIS CAR, ALONE!” And, barring the bystander effect doesn’t occur, I’m pretty sure the guy would be kicked out, or at least his plan would be completely foiled.

When I was really young and my family was moving to another state, we stopped by a few hotels for overnights. Some of these had pools that me and my brother liked to go swimming in. I remember very vaguely running into a guy in the hall after a pool session who offered me something. I followed what I was taught to ignore the stranger, but I'm pretty sure if I made even the slightest wrong decision I would've probably been abducted or worse. The more I visualize this guy in that hallway, towering over me, looking like he'd just returned from 5 years in the woods, god it's terrifying.

Before I watched this video, I saw another video from 2 years ago. The story was about a kid who went into his kitchen to find a stranger with a knife huddled in the corner, face to the wall. I said, I was raised to kill him first, and this kid was raised to run into his room and cry, which he did. The second story of this video, of the family hiding from the dude banging on the door and windows- I respect that older brother. He not only was willing to risk his life for his family, but he knew how, he knew where to get an appropriate tool to fight back- a baseball bat. There's not alot of people like that nowadays, and people take protection for granted too. I'm a 6 foot tall 18 year old, and I plan on joining the military after college. None of my ex's appreciated the fact that they would never be in danger while with me, so now I'm going to defend them from across the seas.

Wow, that guy from story #3 made me sooo furious just from listening to the narration, I'm fuming! In company, I'd certainly have screamed at him, how disgusting, unbearable and manipulative his behaviour is, instead of telling him, that he's "making me feel uncomfortable". Note to everybody: The wording "you make me feel ... whatever" is giving such creeps only the wrong impression of having power over the way how you feel! I doubt, he would've tried to manipulate me into "giving him a hug, cause now he feels uncomfortable" - and if he would've tried - I'd have suggested him, where he can shove his manipulation tactics.

Mara Maroney I agree with that, but you are lacking empathy about the situation and an understanding of human psychology. There seem to be previous circumstances that caused this person to freeze up. It’s not your place to judge them. You never really know how you’ll react in a situation like that until it happens. Especially when you think you may be over reacting or are intoxicated. The point is that man should never have crossed this person’s boundaries. OP made many attempts to politely get the message across, which is understandable, seeing as there was a possibility of seeing this man again at their religious affiliations.
