I was fishing on a lake once in a small aluminium boat and all of a sudden all the other boats pulled anchor and took off back to shore. I was really fixated on the fishing as it picked right up but didn’t notice these monster storm clouds form above me until I heard thunder. It was quite a show. I was surrounded by big black thunderclouds and I too had a carbon fibre fishing rod. I kept hearing an intermittent ticking sound. I couldn’t work out were the tick came from so moved about the boat putting my ear to different things. Eventually my dumb ass realised it wasn’t the prop slowly turning on the motor, but my rod. 😳 Whenever I lifted the rod, the higher I raised it, the quicker the ticks got. I suddenly realised I was in deathly danger and laid the rod flat on the boat floor where the sound stopped and I got the hell out of there.

I lived in St Croix in the US Virgin Islands with my father for a while his friend had a small boat that took a few people out to snorkel off of Buck Island I used to go out with him and the group they would go their way and I would go off by myself so I get off the boat I swim around the back of the boat and I go maybe 10 15 ft away from the boat and here is this huge barracuda just looking at me with them solid black eyes his mouth is kind of open and you can just see those razor sharp teeth I was scared to death and then I was scared that it would sense my heart beating real fast and think of me as prey so I gently used my hands to push myself backward keeping my eyes on him the whole time and then finally when I was really close to the boat I turned around swam to the boat got on the boat Gabby asked me why I was back on the boat so soon and I told him about the barracuda and he said oh that's just so and so he won't bother you I didn't care what he said I was not taking my chances when you come face to face with something like that and you know that you are not top of the food chain it's a fear you will never forget

Story 11. Seen this happening in Spain. Palamos harbour is a place that has a fish market directly next to the sea. I was fishing while sitting on the edge of the harbour and a German dude sitting next to me pulled out the exact same fish mentioned in this vid. This man catches it mid air when he pulled the tiny thing out of the water. I watched it and he let out a yelp while dropping it. Almost immediatly his hand swelled up like a balloon and some Spanish people leaded him away to the emergency post. Not sure what they did with him, i hope they knew the warmwater trick back then. I wil never forget it though.
