The story about the old woman making weird noises- I have a theory about what was going on. They were two men walking down the road and she too was walking down the road. She was alone and maybe she got nervous so she decided the best defense was to act possibly crazy & deranged to keep herself safe. Who is really going to want to mess with a possibly psychotic person? And if that's what she was doing, it worked didn't it? She scared them, and she remained safe. Quite intelligent if that's what she was doing! Now thinking about that as a way to ward off danger I'd act crazy too! (Also when they were discussing switching sides of the street she started to do the same, most people having "episodes" of mental breaks don't avoid people they either don't notice them or aren't bothered by them, yet she chose to cross the street to avoid them seems like she was much more aware than she seems. Now it's just a theory, but a damn good idea if you have no other option to keep yourself safe.

100 % AGREE!! Its the safest and right thing to do if you cannot protect yourself or get scared...Act crazy. If this was the case, she was brilliant!! If not, i hope she stays safe and gets the help she needs.

I’ve been listening to Let’s Read for years now, I think since 2015/16, can that be right? Ages!!! What I really appreciate (apart from the content and Joel’s voice) is how professional this channel is, from the art work to the intro and the music. I also take comfort in the schedule that these videos come out, since you started posting at regular times, I wake up (they come out at 1am in Sweden) put the latest video on and usually fall asleep by the second Story which means that I usually have the ‘watch’ a video 4 times to get through it. Thanks for helping sleep 🙂

Love your videos and narrations and am pretty addicted to them however as an hsp I prefer your supernatural stories better than the crime stories. It seams that every time it starts with the milder crime stories gradually going to more intense and more violent stories towards the end. Yet usually can't help to keep listening because I love your narratives

I had someone pretend to be a cop and pull me over once when I was visiting family in Florida. He was on a white motorcycle and he pulled up next to me in traffic and ordered me to the side of the road. Once I saw that he was not a police officer, but some type of security guard for a funeral escort I told him to buzz off. He's apparently a well-known police impersonator in Florida too.
