“Announced” is not really used by even a native English speaker unless it’s a public or official announcement to a group of people. If someone just says to me he is getting married, I can use he “said” in stead of “announced”. And “said” would sound more appropriate, even though it sounds “boring” to someone ;)
@ekrao79663 жыл бұрын
Announcement of an engagement is quite appropriate. She is showing the value of expanding one's vocabulary and you should see it in the right spirit.
@TheLiberal-d3n3 жыл бұрын
@@ekrao7966 It's not about the right spirit, but we should rather see it in right context. Just because someone is trying to expand your vocabulary, doesn't mean you should not have your own question and opinion.

I'm not proficient in english. But i think the word said and the other words illustrated by you cannot be related. Because the word 'said' is used when there is direct speech needed. And these words are used for indirect speech sentences. So let me conclude. No expressive words can replace the word 'said'. But those words can be replaced instead of the word 'told'. Please correct me if am wrong.
