Additional info! But in American English we pronounce 'R,' ;which means her info is correct, but she should have mentioned the fact that she is teaching British English, but it wasn't her fault either, cuz at the end of the day she is teaching correct (british) English. So if you wanna master British English then you can blindly follow her! Cuz her British English is really good 😊 Dad, I'm famous!!! 🤓😎

It's not about British or American English. It's the regional influence on the way someone speaks. Accent and dialect changes every 50 Kms in any country (including The UK and US). Above that is the IPA (standard English sounds) which one should follow for a neutral pronunciation.

@@letstalk okay, gotcha, but don't forget to mention the fact that you are teaching British English, cuz doing so would be way better; cuz it is.

@@letstalk sorry, i didn't want to sound that much offensive, that's why I have changed my text into a neutral text (cuz the prior text was biased toward(s) American English), but I mentioned the fact that if someone wants to learn British English then he/she (they) can blindly follow you; cuz you are teaching correct British English. I am 14 y/o

To pronounce the r is not mispronunciation! It’s called rhotic R and many UK and most US accents pronounce the R. Also, even in non-rhotic accents (like my own) we do pronounce the R when it’s followed by a vowel sound e.g. bergeR and chips.

Ofcourse I am referring to standard English sounds. The IPA
@alvaromunoz7
@alvaromunoz7 Жыл бұрын
IPA is not standard English sounds… IPA stands for International Phonetic Alphabet, which as its name indicates is an INTERNATIONAL Alphabet, there are many sounds in the alphabet that are not used in English, the idea behind the creation of that alphabet was that of representing through mere conventions the existence of sounds present in languages all around the world. We do use some of those conventions to refer to the existing English sounds but that doesn’t mean they’re the standard ones, plus you should know that phonemes are realised in different ways, for a phoneme is the smallest unit of a sound that would make us discern meaning between sounds (lack vs luck) those are two different phonemes. However phonemes can be pronounced differently depending on regional varieties of the language, that’s why the phoneme of the r has different allophones that is different realisations of it, to say that not pronouncing the r is the “standard” or correct way is totally misleading, just take the way that r is pronounced in some Scottish English varieties, American English varieties or British English varieties, they all differ and yet they’re the same phoneme with just a different realisation
