​​@@Azraiel213 I've not watched the show at all. First impression: He's a notorious homophobe. She calls attention to his mannerism because him doing it like that is in contrast with his character. He responds matter of factly that he's minimizing how much he's bending over. (maybe he's calling attention to his homophobia or the writers would like this to be an unintentional joke, unsure). She's playing with him. He genuinely threatens her for taking the joke too far (the idea of being in a relationship with a gay woman is deeply offensive to him). Somehow he's putting his shoes on, seemingly unaware dinner is almost ready (this is autism) and changes his mind the moment he realizes the time or that he's just hungry. Pretty tense scene. Also I think he's portrayed as being autistic more generally, the less than normal vocabulary, the robotic movements and the rejection/ignorance of how others might see him flags that strongly to me. The food thing is not something I think writers would include, it's not obvious to the audience. Did I get anything right?

I've never seen this show so here's my speculation. They're new roommates, but she wants to see if they'll get along. I took it as she was looking for a reason to fight and see if he would. First she calls him out for no good reason he reacts calmly, but irritated and honest. He instantly understands she's calling him unmanly for crossing his legs and he counters with an explanation. She spells it out as dude that's gay no matter how long do you it. He ignores the homophobia and states a fact about preventing back pain, but she takes it as oh so he is trying to defend his masculinity. He views it as more gay to bend over then to cross his legs. She outright states that I think you're a homophobe. He counters with I don't want to get a back pain condition. She smiles slightly and replies honestly just checking. She states her bisexuality and he's not really sure if this is another logic trap to start a fight so he shuts it down with an, Are we gonna have another fight today Tanis? Overall an expertly written scene depicting someone who likes to play mind games vs someone too smart/in control of himself to fall for it.
