What's so great about his execution of this character, is he didn't OVERDO it. It would have been very easy to get too over the top with it. And he didn't. It was the perfect balance of charisma and subtlety. Brilliant.

Such a great character and a great performer. He was so smooth and original with his delivery I always wondered if it was scripted or improv’ed. The fact that Dave seems to be surprised and amused by all Lyle says makes me think it’s not overly scripted. But damn that’s some funny stuff. Lyle never breaks or stumbles. That actor totally owns this character.

The interesting thing about the 2/17/09 segment is that in at least two markets (Chattanooga, TN and Watertown, NY), the CBS affiliates decided to go ahead with their digital transitions despite the date being pushed to June. So the last thing broadcast on those stations was Lyle telling Dave 'I know where you live Bee-Yotch!' before the plugs were pulled.
