i just bought a record that has this song on it and it’s so cool to listen to, i’m young and it’s an amazing experience to hear all of this from before i was born!

I just heard this for the first time. I don't care what anybody says, this is stunningly beautiful! Say what you want about the Lettermen, when they redid a song, it was like they took it to a heavenly level.

i have to say... being a man who loves r and b.. i have NEVER in my life heard songs like the lettermens 3 part harmony.. has to be one of the most under rated groups ever. classic, and awesome!

They are incapable of doing wrong! They could never miss perfection even if they aimed for it. Great beauty they just do not make anymore. Not that anyone tries. I was born 30 years too late!

One of Burt Bacharach's greatest chord sequences. His irresistible music is as intricate as it is passionate, as subtle as it is soulful.

I never get tired of listening to it over and over. In 1968 I moved from Homestead, FL to Biloxi, MI (had my first child there, mid 1968) and then to Dallas, TX, all in the same year (hard to believe), as my then husband was a trainee for AAFES. In Dallas I had my second child (late1969). Listening to the Lettermen is like going four decades back in time. Thanks for posting. Thanks for the memories. Greetings from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

I feel like I'm repeating myself with all these posts. Let's just say that Herb Alpert would be proud!

Nice to know. It would be impossible to believe they have sustained the perfection of their voices after so many years. I hope that I am wrong.

Yes, you can tell by the performance. This is that rare instance of a cover being as good as, if not better, than the original hit version. Great vocals, wonderful arrangement.
