Jonathan, it was SO very brave of you to share the ending of your relationship. I’ve been watching your channel, and I had a feeling something happened when I didn’t see a photo of you and Marie on the shelf. I do believe that when relationships end, there really is no good guy and no bad guy, (except in extreme cases of abuse), it’s just two people who realized they were basically not compatible. And that’s OKAY. Of course, breakups suck big time. But you’re going to be alright, Jonathan. So many here are with you and we support you as you go through this process of “letting go.” Hang in there. Sending prayers of healing to you…

Marie was so lovely and clearly you had a very deep friendship. I did not feel you were completely compatible, just a gut feeling. You definitely had enough of a spark to give real love a try. I believe you will remain friends and that you’re each better for having known the other. Best to you Jonathan. You’re a good man who has helped many. 💜

@@KS-ij2oz I felt Jonathon was condescending to Marie and threw her under the bus a lot. They seemed to walk on eggshells with each other which isn't healthy. While I did think Marie was lovely, I didn't think they were a match at all honestly.

I relate to your disgust about online dating. My friends are pushing me to get online but I can't shake this feeling that it will leave me feeling demoralized and less optimistic about love.
@elipotter369
@elipotter369 Жыл бұрын
I tried it a couple of times- overall, the time I put in wasn't worth the outcome I got (cost benefit analysis, I've got a degree in economics haha). These days, apparently it's full of scammers, so be sensible. (Don't send money & if you're love bombed by someone usually out of your league, it's a scam). I spoke to some men on the phone, I met one in person (which was a horrid experience). Most men are chasing women over 10 years younger. I felt less valued and the men were less serious than I find in real life - probably because it was a smorgasbord to them, so it was "next" for the flimsiest of reasons. I don't think online dating is all bad, it's a way to significantly increase actually meeting people. It really depends on your tolerance level for sifting through and being wary plus on how serious or keen you are to get a relationship. I also dated via an agency. The matches were okay guys, but none were quite right for what i was confortable with dating. The agency was disorganised and a bit unethical. I'm in the older demographic, but from what I hear re younger online, men are mostly just chasing one off hook ups..

It's fine as long as u approach it like finding a job. Methodical and a process u keep going through u til u align with the right person for you. U might mert the right person on there or it takes a while . It can be exciting getting to know different types of people whilst keeping an open mind ul find what ur looking for. Itl be a screening out process but it will help you to find out what sort of person u want and then ul have to delete or keep as appropriate this helps u align with what u deserve and what is meant for you

Hi Jonathon...please do not take my comment wrong. I knew this was going to happen with you and Marie when you both moved in so soon. I know you say that you should move in quick but I don't believe that is true...just my opinion. Marie is a great woman and will be missed. She was great at giving dating advice. My advice to everyone is please do not move in with someone too quick. I believe you shouldn't move in unless you get married...I know that's not for everyone but just how I feel. Remember Jonathon being single is just fine. What you do here on YT is very helpful to people and very entertaining. As Marie would say "You are a lot"! lol Yes you are! 🙂 Never change! Jonathon, thank you so much for being so real and honest. So many coaches think they have to act like they have all the answers and have everything figured out and have perfect relationships. The fact that you are REAL and share your experiences honestly is what is TRULY helpful to others. I have such respect for that, that you have the courage and wisdom to not put out a false facade of perfection. Dating is a process. I'm going through the same breakup process right now and your wise, honest and loving way of handling this is a comfort and inspiration for me. In experiencing a fairly recent breakup (divorce), its important for others to understand we need time, space and compassion. This means advice is not always necessary (our soul knows what's needed), criticism is not helpful (the loss(es) are painful enough and we don't have the time or energy to feed the relationship/friendship at the moment (getting through the day or night now becomes monumental and a milestone). Those that offer 24/7 assistance if needed and don't take offense if we just don't have the energy to care for them as we normally would, become golden and souls we will continue to travel through life with. My message is to be there for someone experiencing difficulty but not to force your opinions or expect anything in return

Oh! This hurts. I was dating a guy for 3 months and I was falling hard for him. But it became clear that our life paths did not have the same goals. Sad and painful though it was to say goodbye, I did it and he had pulled back already and he felt the same way. I’m not devastated, and I feel love and friendship. I agree that love is never wasted. I learned so much about myself and about what I want and where my boundaries are. And I got to see how loving I can be!

This is late, but I just wanted to say that I’m sorry to hear that things didn’t work out with you and Marie. This must be a very difficult thing to have to navigate so publicly and I think you have done so with a lot of respect and dignity and vulnerability. Just because relationships don’t last, it doesn’t mean that they weren’t hugely valuable to your growth and your life and a positive experience even if you are sad and heartbroken that it didn’t turn out the way you hoped. I hope you are able to grieve and heal and find happiness again.

There’s definitely no duct tape on my mouth! I appreciate your openness and your sharing with us. It’s hard to let go once the attachment and shared experiences has gone on for almost two years. I’ve run the course of emotions with this man, my first experience with a widower, to be so nurturing, so intimate, and so enmeshed- to still be unsure of just where I stand. And to continue to support him emotionally through his loss and now family illnesses, I am drained. Worse, when is enough, enough?! I’ve raising my children, cared for dying parents, making peace with my past, and now I’ve been pouring from my Cup so long… find I’m still alone within this situation.

I totally enjoyed the Rabbi's talk. Being a spiritual person, I agree that marriage is Divine. Blessings to you Jonathan. Perhaps when you meet the one, you might consider keeping your relationship private. Just my humble opinion.

It is inspiring to see an example of what conscious uncoupling looks like and how emotional grownups handle such a difficult situation. You should be so proud of yourself Jonathan. You are showing your audience in real time what a real man looks like. You are truly stand up. Amazing.

Thank you for sharing so much of your own life, it makes it easier to see what can be out there. After losing my spouse I'm trying to navigate and build a new life for myself. Please don't ever feel embarrassed or ashamed for sharing your journey. I had three new relationships what will not or cannot work for me. But sometimes we all have to part ways for our own good. But the way you've shown this is amazing, we all have challenges along our journey, but it makes sense to be intentional. I'm at a point in my widow hood where I'm looking forward to my new chapters and what I can do. I'm building my tribe back up so I can show up better in my own life. It also shows that you have a template for love and possibilities. So thank you.

I think Marie and Jonathan were amazing together, as long as it lasted. I saw (as opposed to the commenter) that Jonathan flourished within himself and his work- you seemed very secure. I really appreciated Maries comments as a strong independent woman. I also think healing went on BOTH ends. Nomatter what 'healing' Marie has to do or more likely, as a choice, she is choosing different in her life, both parties had healthy healing and growth. I also do remember moments when Jonathan mentioned he had difficulty fully trusting and I could see the confusion on Marie's face..its also hard to live your relationship in front of others but I thank you both for sharing. This is REAL life...its the flip of a coin in many cases to get it absolutely right. Peace and happiness to both of you. Thank you Marie! Thanks Jonathan!

Jonathon...I don't know how I happened to find your channel, but I'm so glad I did. I'm just beginning the self-awareness journey and am in the initial break-up of a 13 year relationship. When I think I can't hold it together any more, I use your videos to ground myself-they really help me look at everything on a saner plane, so thank you. Ordered several of your suggested books (yes, your's too!), and as soon as I get my courage up, I want to call you. I think your group sounds very insightful and compassionate. You're funny as hell-thank you for helping me learn how to dry my own tears.This journey is going to be long, and it's scary. Keep throwing out those self-help buoys to all of us still trying to learn to swim without wings

Kudos to you both Jonathan! You are probably the only couple to have done this in the relationship coaching space. You were both super conscious-life is mostly an experiment-NOT an equation with a quantifiable answer. Can’t always quantify/calculate what a relationship ‘might do’-lots of unknowns we cannot fathom.

This is such a powerful video that is giving me tingles and making the hairs on my legs grow out as I listened and relate after dropping off someone who I realized today I cared much more about then I realized but dropped them off to travel last night to pursue their dreams in Brooklyn. When we met it was a whirlwind but then it was hard because we are in different containers and it's not compatible our life goals and dreams right now so we are really creating a very deep and special friendship and keeping open the future possibilities but working on our healing and expanding our lives individually right now so we are with you And Marie

Jonathon, thank you for sharing your story. I was very moved and tearful to hear what transpired in your relationship with Marie. It is so hard to believe that this ending took place as you seemed to be two individuals who were very connected and meant to be together. I had lost touch with your podcasts over the last year and when I reconnected to you, I sensed something very different had taken place in your life. I had to sift through the many podcasts you had given to find out why I sensed this change in you. I wish you both all the joy and love you can each have in your lives and I thank you for always connecting with us, your followers, even when it must have been so difficult for you do so. Bless you always!

There is absolutely NO reason to be embarrassed so never worry about that. It's two people coming together and then figuring out each step of the way from there. No one knows what the future holds. Embrace and Cherish each step of the way and be honest with what is really happening along the way. Every one has a story, a history, wants, desires, and visions. Being able to be on the same page with someone is a wonderful journey...sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. Making sure one's Self Love is solid, healthy, and humble is the foundation for what Life throws our way. My heart is with you Jonathan and Marie. Parting ways in a healthy, loving, and amicable manner is what helps what lies forward for each person. ❤

I was naive and innocent when I entered a very toxic relationship of narcissism and of bipolar. Ten years ago, I was 55 years and had no idea that what I was about to be hit with. In and out of 10 years of narcissistic bipolar abuse. I finally found myself. Values, self worthiness with abandonment, neglect and emotional abuse issues to heal and transform from. I am now open to a loving, supportive, honest and trustworthy relationship or courting, dating and falling in love deeply. I love myself and now know the difference. Thankyou with gratitude to you Jonathon❤

I'm so sorry. Thank you so much for your openness and vulnerability, and your enthusiastic courage. I believe that confusion comes from a disorder in one's life, and living together romantically before marriage is confusing especially for the woman as the man and woman are natural co-creators, especially in growing a family of two into a community-- but the simpler the relationship, the more clarity there is. God bless your journey in love. 🤗

“That’s the vaccination to emotional chaos” Great great analogy. Lean into self love, self growth on this journey of life!!! Jonathan & Marie connected in ways that only both have experienced. Thank you to J & M for sharing their authentic experiences & vulnerabilities in attempt to help others. That’s a way to share love & compassion to us, strangers from around the world. Jonathan’s channel were one of a few relationship experts & coaches that I watched & learn from my experiences. Jonathan often asked “ what does a commitment means to you?” when dating. Besides the obvious, wanting commitment ( are you willing to take care of me?) but also “ am I ready to give up my freedom?” ( meaning to be free emotionally, spiritually, and lifestyle). Dr. Esther Perel answer explains monogamy the best. It took me to own my part in the failed relationship in order to understand myself better. From Jonathan, I learned to be a “ victor conscience “, figuring what my standards, & vetting for the most compatible person.
